    C4 Transmission

I'm trying to get rid of my C4 after doing my T-5 swap but I don't know what its worth. What is a freshly rebuilt with less than 2000 miles that comes with all accessories worth? Thanks, Ranger

    Need opinion on Truck

Ok this is a long story so be ready, My friend bought a 1986 Chevy C-10 about a 2 years ago. 305 V8, 4 speed manual, long bed, 4bbl quadrajet, decent body, good interior, with about 75,000 original miles on it, paid $2500. He bought it from a a guy on a farm that rarely used it. It was a good...

    Borgeson stearing question

You can get the kit that doesn't have the saginaw pump, that's what I did on my '67. I used the original Ford/bendix pump. That was a mistake, at low rpm its not easy to turn. In short, yes you can use a ford pump with the borgeson pump, however I recommend using the saginaw pump. Its a MUCH...

How hard will this engine swap be?

Well normally when we talk about reverse rotation on the forum it has to due with the water pump. If the motor rotates in reverse then you will need a different camshaft and possibly distributor.

How hard will this engine swap be?

To clear the "reverse rotation" up, it means that it has a reverse rotation water pump. That motor was designed for a serpentine belt system and with the way the belt routing the water pump rotates the opposite direction. The timing cover has different water pump holes so that the water is ran...

    FE Build 289 Pushrod length

I ordered some pushrods for my '66 289 and they are about 1/8" shorter than the ones that I have in the motor currently. After doing some research I found out that 63-68 289/302s had a 6.803" length pushrod. '69 and up had a 6.876" pushrod, that seems to be the pushrod I have in my motor right...

    Engine 289 connecting rod

I was taking apart my '66 289 and noticed that the connecting rods don't have oil holes in them but the bearings have holes. Found this a bit odd, is it normal? Thanks and Merry Christmas

    Engine Oil pump for 289

Thanks for the advice guys. I won't use the pump, I'll return the high volume pump and get a standard pump.

    Engine Oil pump for 289

My 67 289 has somewhat low oil pressure at idle when warmed up (about 15 psi). I would like that to be at least above 20 at idle when warm. I'm thinking about putting in a high volume oil pump to help with that problem. Looking for input on this idea. What about a high pressure pump? Thanks...

    Check my math

    The gear ratios for a C-4 are 1st: 2.46 2nd: 1.46 3rd: 1 Reverse: 2.18 So with 4.11 gears 2.46 x 4.11= 10.11 1.46 x 4.11= 6 1 x 4.11= 4.11 2.18 x 4.11= 8.96 These are the exact gear ratios, since the C-4 doesn't have a lockup converter they will be a little bit off since the torque converter...

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah  I'm just making sure that I multiply the correct numbers so I don't screw myself if I get the 3.55s

    Which Muffler Whould You Pick?

I've always liked flowmasters, to me they have a nice sound. I went with 50 series delta flows on my 67 coupe 289 and it sounds great.

    Mild 302 Build

I went with a king cobra clutch which is 10.5". It does not feel like a stock clutch at all but I eventually got used to it.

    Mild 302 Build

Update I bought some cleaned, painted, and rebuilt Gt40 heads off of eBay from a reputable seller with good feedback. I told him that I didn't want the valve springs or rockers because I don't need them and got him go a bit lower on the price. I went with the Gt40s because I didn't want to have...

    Check my math

Ok I'm fairly certain this adds up but I just want to be sure. I have a T-5 with a 3.35 first and .68 OD (according to the tag on the trans). My rear end gears are currently 2.79 My overall gear ratio in first gear is (2.79x3.35) 9.35 My overall gear ratio in fifth gear is (2.79x.68) 1.9...

    Crush nuts for PS swap

If you are going with the original power steering setup, my only advice is don't do it. The original system was crap on its best day. I converted from the original power steering to a Borgeson power steering box and am very happy with the way it works.
