    Buy the '93 coupe, or a '81...

Hey all, I'm about to go pick up a '93 5-speed 2.3L notchback, but today I found a '81 5-speed 2.3L notchback at half the price of the '93. Are these cars that different from the later models? '86 and up? So many parts available for the '86 and up cars, would buying one of these '81 models...

http://people.arsc.edu/~munk/89/index.html See, and now I'm converted and want one. And I JUST picked up a '93 Fox coupe with plans to either have fun with the 2.3T, or play around with swapping a SHO engine in. I don't have enough money for two cool projects. Son of a ...

Oh, lord, I didn't look at some of the other cars being posted in this thread. I scroll up and there's a gorgeous Roush and then a Corvette. Hmm, I could whip out pics of the '96 Mazda... Haha.

    Pics of everyone's rides

Nothing special. 1993 4cyl with a 5-speed. Going to start from the bottom up and keep the 2.3L reliable and running while I focus on the rest of the vehicle. Looking for a comfortable cruiser that I can have a fun time with at various auto events. Drag, AutoX, road. Toying with all the engine...

    Air Ride thoughts?

Well, I plan on doing a little of everything. AutoX, road course, cruising and drag racing. I know it might be a hefty lil financial investment initially but overall be a good choice, giving me a little bit of play in every aspect. Not enough to beat the hardcore guys but be able to adapt to the...

    Air Ride thoughts?

How come I'm not seeing more Mustangs with air ride kits on them? It seems like a really interesting way to go and offers a wide-range of capabilities. I'm kinda interested in getting a set-up on my '93 notchback and am curious as to what everyone thinks of them. Thanks.

Hey all, I'm back. Oh, thank God, I'm finally back. I had a '93 coupe for about 4 weeks about 8mos ago. Then I had to sell it when I found out we were expected a baby. Well, the baby is here and I've got a great job now with enough money to play again. My "new" Mustang, a '93 coupe with...

Engine goes down, timing chain... Replacement engine or easy fix?

Well, my Dad just had it towed to another shop where the guy said he could fix the chain and guarantee it for a year for $450. The last mechanic said he was sure there was no piston/valve damage and that the chain was not broken. The new mechanic says he'll check all that as well. So, that...

Engine goes down, timing chain... Replacement engine or easy fix?

You guys have been a great help. I'm printing this page out and heading over there tomorrow night so we'll be able to do some of what you guys suggested and see where we're heading with this. I could smack my brother at this point, heh. Do you think there's the possibility that when it broke...

Engine goes down, timing chain... Replacement engine or easy fix?

Well, we found another shop that said they could do it for $400 since it does not require taking the engine out. But the previous shop said there would be fragments from the chain in the oil pan - any truth to that or a way to check without taking the engine out?
