    dynamic compression ratio (determined by the cam intake valve closing event) should be looked at - could be a non-issue.

    Huh? my tank has a rubber insert where the fill neck goes into the tank. How is that going to hold presure or vacuum?

    if you unplug the vacuum line it sees wide open throttle and goes full rich. If you unplug the electronics, the EEC should fault code and go into a mode where it assumes values based on other sensors like the TPS.

    That's about an average, I've seen a little less and I've seen more. If it's less, it's not the intake because making an intake flow more efficient never hurts power. Always remember that the intake is only one peice of the puzzle...........

    9:1, custom cam, Keith Craft AFR185s, 1.625" LTs, supporting cast 10:1, custom cam, AFR 165 heads, 1.625" LTs, supporting cast to name two. the right cam is absolutely critical.

    the most I have seen is 280/295RWHP with a ported stock HO intake, Buddy Rawls custom cam and CNC Powerheads ported E7 heads, long tubes, 65mm TB, 76mm MAF. The 280 was with a stock length upper and the 295 was with a 2" shortened upper intake.

    most often there is only one way to tell for sure - try it and see. It can respond positiively to any combination as the best, 1.7s all around, 1.7s on the intake, or 1.7s on the exhaust. Depends on what your combination of parts needs most. My car was more inlet deficient so it responded to...

    So what - the idea is to get the valve lifted faster and flowing faster. I run 1.7s on my intake side and 1.6s on my exhaust.

    The article to use is the HO lower porting article - the Cobras/Explorers have the same issues. Use a Mustang 94-95 MAF.
