    Need turbo pistons

I would say you could replace just wo pistons but I am paranoid that the weights need to be very close or it could throw off the balance. IMHO what I would do is buy the two pistons but pull all four rods and pistons and make sure the pistons and rods are all close to the same weight...

    E3 factory turbo exhaust manifold

I know these have a bad habit of cracking. Has anyone tried to use one or have it welded where the cracks appear to try and reinforce the area? I have one which is not cracked. I was thinking of using the E3 til I can find a factory E6 which my friend says he has in garage (So far the E6...

    poly cast rims

I think that is correct. I remember my first 86LX came with Polycasts with P185/70-14's when I bought it from lady. Took it home washed it and waxed it and put my P225/60-15's on centerline 15X8's. Next day she came by at my work to give me some paperwork and walked right past her car and...

Rering and new bearings in 91LX 2.3L: Any reason I cant use 87 turbo rods and pistons

As soon as I get my 85 LX back I can start driving it. I can then pull 91 LX 2.3L and do a basic overhaul, new main and rod bearings and new front and rear main seals. I will take that time to send the 2.3L dual plug head, and intake to my dad for rebuild and port and polish. My...

    Gear Ratios?

I think your going to be fine. SVO IIRC had 3.73: 1 gears and with 5th gear it should get snappy acceleration and yet still get good economy in 5th. Heres some siites I have bookmarked that might come in handy for you http://www.ricksontruck.com/calculators.html...

    Headlights

Trace wiring back from the headlights. Sorry but my manuals are buried and I cant climb across all the stuff to get to them without killing myself. It is probably under the dash but not sure, pull under dash panel and see if its listed on the wiring diagram decal on back of under dash panel.

    Got some 2.3 questions

I took mine to a car upholstery shop. The cost of the top installed was less than $600. They reused my back window. $1100 for a new top sounds pretty dammed high and if it was me I would feel I was getting ripped off. Do not get the Late Model Restoration top. Just broke out my back window...

    Headlights

IIRC you have a headlight relay, see if that is overheating.

    Stupid question

Any Auto parts store should have them. There should be a selection of them in black backed blister pack and they are done by same folks who do the "HELP!" stuff I think.

    Got some 2.3 questions

I bought my 2.3L LX convertible for $1300 and paid $550 for a new top and that was installed but did not include the back window. It originally a automatic transmission but was converted to a T5 before I bought it. Car had 15" 10 hole wheels and no radio. Body was fair to rough and had a...

    Hypothetically speaking...

I will be using these more than likely with the BAMAFUEL ECU so it wont be just throwing 30lb injectors into a 19lb system. Some of my friends are trying to get me to go the Superchips route. This motor is planned to be basically a 87 Turbo Coupe exhaust manifold, stock T3 turbo, stock 91...

    Hypothetically speaking...

I am looking at the green top injectors from the Turbo Coupe motor. What are chances these will still be in good shape? What is failure rate of injectors? Can injectors be rebuilt? Looked at new injectors from NAPA and they want $94 to $135 per injector. After recovering from the shock I...

    Hypothetically speaking...

Going by the FAQ on Stinger's site the stock injectors and throttlebody wont support much more than 130hp. I was thinking that I could run a bigger throttle body, run SVO or Turbo Coupe injectors and run the BAMAFUEL ECU. Im not opposed to 3" downpipe and exhaust but I feel that will be a...

    Hypothetically speaking...

With gas prices what they are I am looking at building a 2.3L turbo but keeping my current motor setup. Not looking for a road racer but something that is fun to drive at about 200hp. Is this setup feasible? Rebuild stock 2.3L motor with DIS and DP head but install ARP rod and main bolts and...

    dont know year fox body

Look at VIN number. First letter is the decade D is 1970's E is 1980's and F is 1990's. EDIT: My 1991 convertible starts with 1FA and its a 1991. Second digit should be a number and should be the year of that decade. None of the 2.3L Mustangs came with the 8.8" rear.
