    Teflon Tape on MC Fittings?

Those are flared fittings, you shouldn't need teflon tape. If you're using reducers, they should be the type for a flared fitting... and easy mistake. If you are using the correct pieces and are having a leak, either tighten the fitting some more, or reflare the line. Tape will not hold and...

    Limited Slip or Lockers?

I've had Detroit Locker for years and would recommend that unless you're doing heavy track time, get a limited slip rear. The Detroit Locker is a great piece, but is NOT a good daily driver rear. There are many excellant LS setups that will suite your needs AND be a good rear for weekend...

    Considering purchase - advice needed

Hmmmm..... Have you considered getting rid of the old lady? A Mustang can also keep you warm at night, if you leave the heater running. J/K!

    Issues with transmission when cold.

That should be about another 28 years at the rate he's going. :rlaugh: Maybe he could splurge and just change the fluid every couple of years.

What did you pay for your '05 Mustang?

MSRP is probably fair...especially early on. I wouldn't pay any addendum, its a total waste of money for a car that will be produced in the 100s of thousands. The dealers count on those individuals who just absolutely must be the first on the block to have the new Pony... they deserve what...

    KB and the '05 GT...

Mach 1 owners have been hearing that song for 2 years... I'll believe it when I see it.

Just turn a hose on it. If it doesn't leak then, its not going to leak in the rain.

What did you pay for your '05 Mustang?

I think you're wrong. The '04 was exactly the same car as the '03 and virtually the same back to '99, so its time was up. Ford's intent with this car was to produce a vehicle that they could sell at MSRP. I will be utterly amazed to see rebates on the '05 models, even at the end of the model...

I guess that somebody had to be first! I'm sure that there will be many wrecked photos in the coming weeks & months....better get used to it.

    Well,,, I test drove a 2005 V6.....

I don't think so.... I'll even give you a headstart hotshot! :D I own an '03 Mach and I drove the '05 GT and will say this. If I were in the market for a new car, I'd buy the '05 GT. That said, I wouldn't trade my Mach for one. I don't have anything bad to say about the '05, but its just...

PICS! I believe the First '05 Legend Lime GT on Stangnet

It must be the 20 years I spent in the Army, but I HATE that color! The windviel blue is a color I can get my mind around, though...

    Considering purchase - advice needed

The thing about buying these classic Mustangs, is that everything is subjective. Don't look at just dollars. Some of these self proclaimed pros don't have a clue of what it takes to restore a car and many more of them just write a check for others to do the work. I'm not going to say one...

    M-II front suspension

Take a look at he new Flaming River stuff. They make it much easier to install thse days and they make top quality components. Going to the coilover suspension with rack & pinion with make it a new car and you can ditch the shock towers to clean up the engine bay, to boot. Its sweet!~

    Weatherstrip glue

If its not black, don't use it unless you're a professional. That yellow "snot" is really messy. You can get the black 3M from almost any parts store.

    Which headers to buy?

I got the ceramic coated Tri-Y's from Virginia Classic Mustang for $249. I had the Chrome Tri-Y's from Mustangs Unlimited and they blued much too easily. The ceramic coated headers fit and look great!

    what rear end

I wouldn't change it, unless you break the 8". I'm one of those who think the 8" is good for more than 270. If you're needing to change gears and such anyway, go ahead and get a 9" trac-loc with 3.55 gears. Stay away from lockers and spools. You won't like the ride, if you do mostly non-drag...

what size torque conv. on stock 66 c4

If you're not requiring a professional type TC. Both B&M and TCI make a decent torque converter for street & light strip use. BTW... I'd go for something like the TCI streetfighter 2800 stall... I "think" you have a 24 spline, 10.5", 4-bolt pattern, as stock. Just be sure to order it for...

My new engine is a dog!!

I didn't realize the Ranger weighed in at 3800 lbs.... I thought it would be much lighter than that.

Mach 1 What are some major issues/problems with the Mach 1?

Don't let that 5800 redline bother you. I regularly shift at 6800 and thats with 8psi of boost... Ford cast cranks are very good and the Mach engine is much tougher than most people think.
