    If it were me I would try the battery first. Especially if it is lasting a couple of days. The voltage going up a little is not out of the norm. As the acid eats the lead in the cells there will be Minor variations in the voltage.

    I get mine from Tractor or farm supply stores. You probably will not find an exact replacement with the shoulder but I bet they will work just fine.

    Roller motor question

    You forgot to mention the threaded holes for the roller spider in the post 85 blocks. This is to stop the Roller lifters from turning inside the bore. If you do the conversion do not forget this. It is very important. I have seen 4 or 5 guys forget the spider and make a real mess out of things.

    First things that come to mind are in this order. Timing way off. Way to rich on the fuel Burnt Valve I would find Top dead center and start from there.
