FR500s on my 73 mach 1 plus pics

I bought them from americanmuscle.com. Those are the size wheels & tires that I put on, no spacers. The wilwood kit pushes out the hub .75". I had to grind on the UCA to get it to clear on the inside. It does clear the fender though. The fronts needed longer studs as well as the back. So it...

FR500s on my 73 mach 1 plus pics

Thanks for the tip about the panhard bar, I'll look into that. Never gave up on classics hungrymonkey :D I just now got back into a position where owning one was a posibility on a few different levels :) I did buy a cheap awd talon to daily drive for a few years when the previous one burnt...

FR500s on my 73 mach 1 plus pics

The previous mach burned up. My wife had a 99 t/a that she bought be we were married. We recently tried to sell it but the car was totalled in the process. Some guy smacked it while it was parked near a road. So enter another 73 mach 1 :D I'm not sure what happened to the previous one. My...

FR500s on my 73 mach 1 plus pics

The front brakes weren't too bad, 650$ shipped. I went ahead and bite the bullet and ordered back ones since drums wouldn't look right behind the wheels. And on the front studs, I drove all over town and looked in every catalog for a knurl that would go through the hub & far enough into the...

FR500s on my 73 mach 1 plus pics

Well that was an ordeal. Couple things worth noting. I couldn't find longer studs that had knurls long enough to go throug the stock hub/rotor. After some research and desire to ditch these crappy brakes I bought the wilwood brake kit. The kit bolted up great, it's very nice. The spindle put...

FR500s on my 73 mach 1 plus pics

Doh! I forgot to look at the tire size before I left. I can't remember the ratio but it's 275s in the front and 315s in the back. Of course I'm going to leave the drums back there. They work so well and look so good, that, uh, yeah I'm going to swap them out soon hopefully  I got the...

FR500s on my 73 mach 1 plus pics

Got them in the other day, 315s in the rear. I need to put longer wheel studs on, and the front hub needs a little massaging for the center cap to go on. Other than that fitment is inside the wheelwell, but I might have to roll the fender once I get it on the road. I'll have finished pictures in...

Thanks. When I said new I really meant "one ripped out of a car". Looks like you guys confirmed what I was thinking about ease of finding one :(

    clutch pedal assembly for 71-73.

We're starting a t5 swap, and after reading on some websites it looks like the automatic/manual pedal assemblies are the same. Is there a company that reproduces just the clutch pedal & arm? After looking on ebay I'm reeling from sticker shock from the thought of buying a new assembly.

    back in the game!!!!!

Factory is FMX. We swapped to a c6 when the FMX died an untimely death. Then we swapped to C4 later down the road. I found a good complete C4 for 300$ locally. So the first move will be to unload the car off the trailer, and swap the trans :D I can't wait.

    back in the game!!!!!

After a brief hietus :) I bought another 73 mach 1. We're doing the paperwork today and it should be here in a 3-4 days. I don't plan on going as crazy with this one as the last one, but we are going to do a couple things :D It's a 73 with a 71 M code 351c. We're going to dump the c6 for a...

    wtb: 71-73 mach 1

Seriously looking to get another one. Prefer to have one in good running condition. Also would like a 73 but I'll consider a 71-72 if I can't find one. If anybody knows of any leads please forward them to me. We're looking to get back in the game. Thanks, mach1one.

bump, is there a way to test the bypass valve to see if it's working correctly? My boost is down and I'm thinking it might have gone bad.

    Source for another 351C block?

I can't speak on how often I heard of people cracking walls on clevelands. But I do know we had a .060 (in retrospect we should have ditched the block). We ran the engine very hard and the only real problem we had was overheating. I think I had a bigger problem than most people bc the walls were...

    Wheel time...

this question has been beaten to death on search. 16s won't cause a low rider look. If anything I wish we had gone with 16s. 15s w/ 215/60 tires will look like rubberbands in the back. tirerack.com has good prices on tires. use froogle.google.com to find the wheels you want.

    1973 grande performance

Try search and then ask a more specific question. Then you'd realize not many people go the blower route with a 351c. You need specific goals with the car. Unless you have those, you'll be throwing money away trying things that don't perform like you want. The car is heavy and the stock...

    Source for another 351C block?

right, OC's ping on any decent compression, chambers are much too big, even if you polish them. If you stick w/ 2v, you'll probably have a good sounding car that runs mid14s in the 1/4. You should be able to find a set of 2v's cheap for almost nothing on ebay.

    Source for another 351C block?

I"d only use the 2v heads if you couldn't find a 4v set. I wish we never dumped money in the open chambered 2vs.

I didn't mean any disrespect, hell lots of people didn't like what I did to my mustang, but oh well I loved it :D
