Wow I'm glad this post got pulled up to the top. I didn't think I was much of one for anything larger than 16s but decided I'd have to step up to 17s to clear my new disc brake kit. Few days ago I found the PERFECT wheels but the smallest they came in was 18s, when I found them on sale for $160...
Not tryin to hijack just had a little though/question regarding the discussions of reving small blocks up high. Does anybody know of a good 302 intake that keeps a nice bottom end (eps torque, mmmm torque) but still breathes and makes power up to 7k or so? My engine won't go near those revs...
Hi everybody. I just bought one of Mustang Steve's 2005 GT brake kits for my 67 coupe and therefore needed to upsize the stock 14" rims. I'd finally convinced myself that 17" rims wouldn't look too big and was planning on buying some 10th anniv. cobra wheels when I found a set of wheels that...
Lol, no offense taken man. Thats why I'm asking whats realistic. Thats how design should go: think big, find a compromise thats realistic and that you can live with, build it, tear it apart, change it, and build it again!
Oh I totally agree, we over engineer just about everything. Mostly thats because a little extra cost beats getting sued if something goes terribly wrong.
I bough one of the mustang steve GT brake kits this morning and will roll with the stock spindles for now, can always get new ones later if...
The engine doesn't HAVE to rev that high, but as I've decided to go with a modern interpretation of the Boss 302 for the powerplant I wanted something that'd live up to the legend, not just a better-than-average 302 with boss valve covers :nono: Besides, having usable power low and high will...
Spindles look like they may have some metal fatigue fractures starting on them. I'm not positive about it but I'd much rather be safe than sorry about it. While on the subject of being safe, What can I do to bolt up wheels with late model backspacing without using spacers? I know many people...
I know 450 horses isn't tough, nor is some combination of 2 or 3 of the things I mentioned. Its the whole package I described that I'm wondering about. For instance I have no idea what would be needed to have lots of low end torque AND pull all the way up past 7k. Thats why I'm asking if the...
Hi everybody, I'm in the conceptualizing stages of an engine swap/build for my recently acquired 67 stang. I want to build up a blown 5.0 using Ford Racing's "new" Boss 302 block.
My goals for this build are as follows:
I want to make as much power as possible (a given right?) 500+ would be...
Thanks for the info on the 12.5" brakes pak. Do you know where to buy that kit? I checked the mustangsteve.com product page and didn't see it. Also, what size of tires are you sporting on that '69? I usually don't like the stance of classic stangs on wheels any bigger than 16" but yours looks...
I've got a '67 with drums all around and I'm wanting to install disc brakes. As things stand now I'm pretty sure my spindles are cracked and/or bent so I'll have to get replace those regardless of what path I go. Would it be best to go with stock drum spindles and a conversion kit designed for...
I've heard of people around the internet running 16s up front and 18s in back or 18s and 20s and so on. I'm wondering if there's any benefit to this other than aesthetics. Also if anybody has some pics of their ride/any ride set up this way I'd like to see them. I don't think thats any kind of...
Thanks for the reading material fellas. After alot of researching I've narrowed it down to the TCP kit and the Ron Morris Street Force kit. I really do like the sound of the del a lum bushing on the Global West Negative Camber kit but I can't justify the extra cost just for those. Any...
Thanks for the advice Reen. As my Christmas break just started and I've got some free time I have gotten a little research done. In addition to learning more about suspensions I've found some of the work you've done and all I've got to say is I think you're going to have to be my best friend...
