    Shaker CD Player Replaced

    I had the skipping problem with home burned CDs and it was cutting the end off of store bought CDs. So, I took it in for the 10K maintenance and asked them to fix the radio under the TSB. Well... they replaced the radio and 3 minutes after leaving the dealership it started skipping again...

    I'd say no. But I'm not a fan of things that "stick" to cars... stick-on stripes, stick-on graphics, stick-on wings, stick-on carbon fiber trim, stick-on mouldings... where does it all end? What happened to the good old days when things were either painted on or bolted on?

    Question #2: You were in a Mustang and you let her get away? I got hit by a chick running a red light. The kicker was I was in a 420+ hp 1965 Nova SS. She never even hit the brakes after spinning me around in the intersection. I chased her down with my bumper dragging!

    I sold my 450 hp Chevy to buy the 05 Mustang, so I'll have to say I got it more for the style than the power. It is currently one of a very select few American cars with any style. I would have bought GM if they had something comparable that didn't look like an LS2 powered Camary.

    I think the review shows that Ford finally designed a car that is truely American. See... AMERICANs love it, and non-Americans don't... The new Mustang is truely an American car for an American driver living in America! We need to build all our cars like that!

    I'm just worried of the quality of the work and the fixes currently available. My Skipper 1000 skips (its a B unit) and I get that pop in the front end... but from what I hear, some people have had this problems fixed, and they stayed fixed, while others had them fixed and they started all over...

    don't forget the 2 in the package tray... you know... if you really want the performance of the Shaker 1000... keep the 500, take all your CD's scratch them up with some sand paper, and you'll get the same amount of skipping!

    Any downsides to smaller overall tire height from stock?

    personal opinion... don't get anything polished... You've got chrome and powdercoat choices. They are much easier to maintain. Polished aluminum turns white every few weeks. To get the shine back takes a little effort. Chrome and powdercoat shine up easy.

    ...he says there is no fibreglass... it is all 20 gauge steel! How does a stock 1.5 4 cyl engine with 107K miles pull all that weight? Then to top it all off, you've got the monster tach so you know when to shift!

    The Roush wing uses the original holes. However, it's a 3 piece wing and the 2 side pieces require you to drill holes in the quarter panels... I've got the Roush wing and love it.

    I'm not an expert, but I understand that you can swap the engine as long as the engine is from the year or a newer year than the car. The necessary smog equip must be on the car then you take it to a referee station... the cammer probably won't pass the ref, but since the 07 cobra engine will...

    A/C cycling too much, too noisy?

    with the car idling, a/c on low, pop the hood and watch the pulley on the front passenger side of the engine. You'll see exactly where the noise is coming from. Another great Ford design.

    Cammer 5.0?

    why not wait until the 07 cobra comes out. Then you can buy a 5.4 crate motor (with or without a supercharger), and Ford will already have all the necessary conversion parts available... I think that's a better option.
