I've got a porter cable as well....and none of my stuff looks that good! seriously and as some others have already mentioned..... as I scanned the thread and saw the pic that turned out to be the "cleaned" shot, I thought that was the painted shot for sure!

    04 cobra vert

Last cobra I owned was a 1998 model. I picked up this 04 back in september....11K mile, showroom stock. Have since added the typical mods (pulley, exhaust, tune, etc...) Great car, lots of low end tq. Fun cruiser. I'm still debating on how exactly to lower it and if I go with aftermarket...

    Stock vs Stock

well, I'll tell you this..the 01 Bullitt GT I had was plenty salty...shockingly salty. That car ripped off the line versus a 32V, much better low-mid range. In fact, my best pass in the car bonestock (w/dr's) was 13.33 It felt every bit as fast 0-100 as my '98 Cobra. the Cobra needed...

    Bullitt vs Corvette

well, it has happened. No question. You want to play you got to pay. However, I had over 100 passes in my 02 Z06 with the stock rear end and was yanking as low as 1.62 60fts on 17" 315 BFG drs...no failure. Drove home everytime. That car with just an air intake and the DRs ran 11.69 at 118...

    Bullitt vs Corvette

tell your bud to try the nitto 555R. I had the 295/35s on the stock 18" z06 rim and they hooked awesome on the street. I had a h/c, 3.90 geared car making 455 sae but they were extremely scary in the rain when they got about 8K miles on 'em

    Bullitt vs Corvette

if this can't get someone a piece of arse for the entire night, might want to clear the house of guns and sharp objects lol

    Bullitt vs Corvette

I think my insurance went down about $40 bucks a year when I sold my 98 Cobra and bought an 02 Z06. Thats the beauty of having ownership thats mainly old, fat, bald, no street racing, and in bed by 9:00pm on Saturday nights...now contrast that with the same demographics for a mustang owner...

    Better picts of the vette

not yet. I'm sitting at #29 on an msrp list up here at classic chevy in grapevine. I should get an '07 around November or December. Machine silver with 427 cubes of furry. same color as this '06: with the same two tone titanium interior: man, it's been a long wait already. I...

Help understanding timeslips KB GT 500RWH

first off, just for apple to apple comparisons, that 500rw dyno is STD corrected, that would equate to about a 480rw SAE dyno. But even with that, those traps are awefully low. This is why I hate dyno drum racing....it's not reality. A car can be tuned to run great on a dynojet drum, but...

Brand new vette runs at etown.....slower than stock cobra

miklo pissed because he still can't beat a stock Z06 with drag radials. 11.68?? at 121?? you need to learn to 60ft a car before you talk too much crap about any other car, especially a bonestock one. Your car was actually making some power, too bad you keep wasting it with piss poor 60fts...

Motor Trend says we lose to the vetee...just a little

I'm not sure UM. I actually heard of two guys at HRP running 12.2s in '03s that were otherwise stock, besides removing the air filter completely. Probably not the smartest thing to do, but it will pick up some boost automatically, especially on a cold night. I think it was like 48 degrees...

Motor Trend says we lose to the vetee...just a little

you think that 11.97 is fast for a blind squirrel, take a look at this one UM: http://www.z06vette.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51353 thats a friend of mine that lives in Baytown about 5 minutes from HRP. He's the blindest of the blind squirrels.

Motor Trend says we lose to the vetee...just a little

no need to get your panties in a wad because you didn't like what I linked. You're the one that made the hasty generalizations. It's not made up, thats every bit as reputable a mag as mmff. Speaking of mmff, I heard evan smith did run a stock Z06. Not sure of the year, but it was an 02+ or...

    Engine is shot

I think thats a load of crap that an aftermarket shop forged rebuild is somehow more reliable than a factory 04 cobra motor. That factory 8.5 comp is going to have tighter tolerances. Ask the reputable shop techs (off the record) if you don't believe me.

here's a bonestock 04 that trapped higher than your "no question" pullied cobra: http://www.gmhightechperformance.com/features/0410htp_zo/ 11.97, as is from the showroom :D
