Proper break in period on a new 04 Mustang GT?

Think about this. They put brand new engines together on an engine dyno and then they start them up, let the motor get to operating temp, then they procede to run the piss out of it. . .The rings seat quite quickly once the engine is first fired up. Wear points on friction parts will be the same...

    It's alive!!

Eh, just a thought...could the fact that the hole for the EGR is open cause the low end to feel kinda soggy and/or like a miss? It just feels like it's running REALLY rich down low, however without excessive fuel smell. I dunno, just thinking about it...Any ideas?

Supercharger installed, CAR WON"T START. HELP PLEASE

Yep, sounds like the chip. Is this a new kit or did it come off another car?? If it's new try cleaning the terminals and installing the chip again. If it's a used kit the ship may be for another computer code. PATS stands for Passive Anti-Theft System

    It's alive!!

Well after braving the 40 degree air and rain this morning the stang is up and running. There aren't any leaks from what I can tell, except for the EGR hole which blew out its JB weld plug..I'm going to just cap it with a pipe cap. Now it runs great up top but it seems to have a low end miss...

    EGR now gone..few Q's

Well I fubar'd my EGR tube during the headswap. Although I know there isn't any real performance gains from this I need to figure out how to finish this up. The exhaust manifold and valve have been blocked off. Now for the square sensor that has the vacuum lines going to it. Should I cap these...

    '04 cobra s/c engine swap

You can grab one of those for around anywhere between 9-12K. There may be a few cheaper out there of course. Just look in a FRPP catalogue. You're best bet is a take out/parts car....good luck

spark plug gap for headswapped cars

Mine will be set at .40 when I fire it up tomorrow. I did this with a set of autolites prior to this it is possible I felt a gain, but I wasn't looking for one. . .just trying to keep the plugs from fouling.

    New heads VS Old heads

Well this isn't near as bad as being w/o the car for a year! After my next deployemnt I will have only spent 9 months out of three years with the stang. . .they should comp me for that, lol...or at least give me a loaner to drive over there. . I know I saw some stangs in Kuwait.

    6 cats!?

Well in my unit there a load of stangs, we all hang out and stuff so I checked the cars, as I was sure that the mods all came with 6. Well my 96 had 6 (now 0 ;) ), a 98 with 6, an 02 with 6, two 03 Machs with 6, and an 01 cobra with yet again 6 cats. Pretty good sampling, not all purchased here...

    New heads VS Old heads

Well tomorrow the new heads go on and I get to finally start putting the car back together. Thanks to a donation from the girlfriend I was able to grab a headswap kit (hell yeah) so there won't be any half assing. Here's a shot of the old heads with the nice bent valves :notnice: and a shot of...

    Got nitrous....then get this!

Scott02GT over at Modular Depot designed them and makes them for Steeda, FYI. I also believe he can hook you up with a panel for the SCT 4 position switch that fits in your change holder. . . .
