    Granada Disc Conversion

Wow, lots of questions and most are answered by using the search feature. Tie rods are often too long to set toe settings. Nothing a dremel can't fix, or even better a set of Baer Tracker outer tie rods. They also help "fix" some of the suspension geometery caused by the Granada spindles...

    '66 FastBack - Eliminating Shims

You need both to eliminate shims on a 65-66 Mustang. Just recently converted mine. Haven't aligned it yet, but its sure going to be a LOT easier now.

    By far hardest decision ever!!!!!!!!

Backspacing is the crucial component when fitting a rim. Spacers are needed when a rim with improper backspacing is used. Since you are starting out with a blank slate, I recommend selecting a rim with the correct backspacing. If you are going to maintain your factory brakes I would suggest a...

I've got Granada spindles and ORP upper/lower control arms and no problems.

    shelby drop template

I agree that a 1/2" drill bit is best for the final holes. Its a better fit and a lot easier to find than a 17/32"!

    T5 Question

The speedo cable bolt is probably a 1/4", but that's a guess. Might have to do some seaching for a replacement. No problem using the C-4 cable with the T-5.

    keep the emblems?

I could never take my 289 emblem off the car... unless of course it was for a 347 one of course. I have a V8, and I'm not embarrased to show it.

Opentracker UCA vs. Global West UCA

Great info John on the different upper arms. Sounds like your new autocross arm fits the bill for someone looking for improved performance on a budget, especially with the ability to drop the arm a 1.75" for maximum grip.

    Few quick suspension questions.

Of all the suspension improvements you can make, the spring perches and strut rod upgrades are THE most important. I would make a budget suspension design around them. Once installed, you will understand.

    Few quick suspension questions.

All of the previous mods make huge, significant improvements on a street driven Mustang. IMO I will never own a classic Mustang with them.

    Few quick suspension questions.

Big boys play with Koni shocks, not KYB :D Also, if you're going to be replacing the idler arm, might as well go roller. Improvement is worth every extra penny. Course, while you're doing that a set of roller spring perches also make a huge improvement. Oh ya, and the stock strut rods...

65-66 Lower Control Arm supposed to be THIS tight??

Another reason why rubber SUCKS as a suspension joint. Roller parts make such a difference in the suspension of our classic Mustangs.

    292 Y BLOCK...........

They were not rare in 1955... But this is 2006. Not a common block these days.

    292 Y BLOCK...........

The Y-blocks were often used in early model T-birds as well as other Ford products. Not an easy or realistic fit for a Mustang, if that's your question.

    Roller bearing idler arm question?

Excellent upgrade for a manual steering car!!! Two big thumbs up. And like Silverblue said, with positive caster the car will straighten its self out.
