Help me decide between these heads

Yup.I had the old school eddies, and TEA told me not to bother with porting. Now, I do hear the "new" design eddies flow much better than the old school ones.so I do not know if those are portable or worth it. Heck there also is CNC ported twisted wedges at summit.they look like they would...

Help me decide between these heads

As far as I know, the comparison was between the AFR 165 and Edelbrock. That is a fair comp, puttin g 185 fully ported heads against unported 170cc heads isn't. The 185 will flow more than stock Eddies, no doubt. The 165s.....well, probably flow more, not much, but really is it worth the...

Help me decide between these heads

I ran the edelbrock rpm heads and intake on a 351w..was VERY impressed! BUT, my custom cam grinder (Jay Allen) worked the numbers.....Vic Jr intake was worth an average of 30hp across the board, and the heads would choke it REALLY bad.........so I decided to cancel my vic jr heads I ordered...

Help me decide between these heads

Here are a few of my thoughts.take them for what you will. 1) By FAR, and I do mean BY FAR the BEST VALUE in heads is Canfield 192, period. They will support in excess of 500 hp in stock form, and can be ported to flow really well. How can you beat $1195 assembled with FERREA Comp...

Help me decide between these heads

I had a 351w with TFS Stage 1 cam, performer RPM heads with the 1.90 intake valves, rpm intake, 750 holley, yada yada.RAN EXCELLENT! BUT..............the heads you mention will mean you are limited to further hp. I strongly suggest you check out Canfield 192 heads! They are very nice and...

    Anyone running a Boss 429 Scoop on a 67-68?

Yes indeed. Just a suggestion.........with the Boss scoop, you could open up a really nice hole in the hood to help with cool\ing the engine bay. That is what I plan on doing, anyway.

    Anyone running a Boss 429 Scoop on a 67-68?

Mr.Hearne: I see you have Canfield heads................................... That is what my custom cam guy got me to buy....the new Canfield 195 for SBF. How do you like your heads???? From inspection..I can tell they flow way more than my Edelbrocks.

    Anyone running a Boss 429 Scoop on a 67-68?

A hood is CHEAP compared to my paint! I have an aftermarket turn signal hood.it was fairly reasonable. I do have WICKED expensive custom dark candy apple red paint, so it is way more economical to simply butcher up my hood and get the scoop painted. On that topic............what does...

    Anyone running a Boss 429 Scoop on a 67-68?

Thanks! I need to do something to fit my hood on my new engine with a 393w and vic jr intake.....there is going to be a hole in the hood for that to occur. I have ordered the 429 scoop from MAS in St.Paul MN.........it is only 2 1/2" high, so it isn't as bad as the ones that are 5"...

My new 351w Is it worthy ?

Forged pistons can take more abuse, they tend NOT to explode into shrapnel when they fail.....UNLIKE cast or hyper pistons which tend to break apart and ruin everything when they fail. Mahle, SRP, Probe all can be had for under $500.00 per set complete.
