    I shoved those blue paper shop towels into the couplings to keep stuff out while the manifold sat on my garage floor. I made the mistake of not looking into the coupling to see if any towel got broken off before plugging in the return line :loser: I wonder if I can return my new FPR :rolleyes:

    Just looks weird to me. I could understand if it was a mid-engined car, but it's just a coupe with a giant slot cut in out of the roof. Besides, what a massive headache for what? Personally, I'd rather build a widebody kit for the time/effort involved.

    Yeah, we were reasoning out whether it would be worth also doing one for the breather, but since it appears it stays petty dry, it's not worth it. I took a look at mine and the TB is pretty clean too, so really no need for another filter, just the PCV one.

    It primes to 38psi and holds it, but while idling, its steady at about 84-85 psi. As far as I can tell the gauge seems ok. I think the loudly ticking injectors and whining pump defend the high reading too. I may take it down to Oreilly and run codes. I suppose I could hook up the inverter...

    That one is freaking nice. I may have to pick one up. For $112, it's a no-brainer once you see what the inside of the engine looks like after 100k miles. I'm wondering if it's worth buying one for the breather tube as well? Or maybe something cheaper, hardware store style for the breather?

    No luck tonight with a new FPR. Still at 85psi all the time and the pump is whining under pressure. Tomorrow night, I'm gonna pull the return line off and try to clear it with the air compressor nozzle rammed into it. Will I wreck the pump/injectors if I continue to drive it? I'm getting...

    Did you check the fuel system? Your problem sounds like mine. I found that my fuel pressure is maxed out all the time, regardless of vacuum, which means the FPR could be bad or the return line is clogged. I'll find out tonight if it's what is causing my surging and rough/lopey idle.

    As far as changing the speakers: If you care about the sound quality, I'd highly suggest bolting up a plywood baffle with some 6" or 5 1/4" component speakers there instead. Or at least mounting the 6x8s to a wood baffle. The factory metal and plastic up there just rattles and leaks like crazy.
