Right-Rear Rattle - Help me identify what is rattling!!!

My seatbelts drove me nuts. Make sure your fold down rear seats are locked in position and connect your rear seat belts up. Then adjust the right front belt so the male portion doesn't rattle against the plastic anywhere.

Biggest decision for my car: Blower, or PI swap with nitrous?

\\ Got a ride in a P1SC Mustang and was totally impressed. Man, that pulled hard. Had 3:73's in it that helped, but it was fast and was a 12.4 car at the strip with just nitto 555 drags on it.

Biggest decision for my car: Blower, or PI swap with nitrous?

I don't have a non-pi car, but from what I've read, the intake is really the restriction above 4.5-5k on non-pi's. You can pick up pi heads w/cams, and the pi-intake cheap. Probably the best bang for the buck if you doing it yourself.

Biggest decision for my car: Blower, or PI swap with nitrous?

KB has a kit for the non-pi heads. thought it added around 140 rwhp or so.

Biggest decision for my car: Blower, or PI swap with nitrous?

Cheap if you can do the work yourself. What I don't like about Nitrous is you need to get it refilled.

Biggest decision for my car: Blower, or PI swap with nitrous?

Could be, what ever you do you need a damn plan and budget. However, I don't see too many 350 rwhp N/A 2V's around. The 9 PSI should get you 380-400 rwhp for 4800 bucks. Around 30 bucks hp. When you add up all that's necessary for 350 rwhp N/A motor, you also have spent quite a bit. If...

Biggest decision for my car: Blower, or PI swap with nitrous?

You can get the 9psi Kenne Bell blower and get around a 140 rwhp without changing the intake or exhaust. Or you can spend quite a bit getting cams, exhaust, intake, ported heads, etc and not get 100 rwhp gain out of it. Struggling with the same dilema.

WARNING!!! Predator Tune May Be LEAN...

The Ford HP factory tune was damn rich (10.5-12)on my car at WOT. This is the tune that came with the car and tuner said this was to keep the cats from getting too hot. When I installed the Predator tune, it was 10's-11. This was on a DynoJet and probably a tailpipe sniffer. Both tunes were...

    synthetic vs. mineral oil

Ok. I would agree that not all engines would benefit from synthetic oil. But my 04 GT 4.6 2V comes from the factory with Motorcraft SAE 5W-20 Premium Synthetic Blend Motor oil and Mobil 1 Synthetic tranny fluid. So, I'm going with the synthetics for my changes.

    synthetic vs. mineral oil

When I read a bunch of oil tests, I also looked into filters. Big difference in filters between brands. A lot of filters won't flow oil when cold and the bypass valve kicks in to bypass the element until the oil warms up. First time I heard of a piece of dirt large enough to prevent a...

    synthetic vs. mineral oil

Mobil 1's formula has been upgraded a number of times since it first came out. In the oil tests I've read, it's near the top in vicosity retention. Petroleum oils start degrading in 1500-1700 miles. If your changing at 3k, probably not a big difference. It seems Mobil 1 is especially good...

    looking for cam upgrade advice

Just changing cams isn't that bad. http://www.modulardepot.com/?show=articlesdet&aid=39 If you go with a cam like the VT Stage I, you don't need new springs unless you have a lot of miles or planning on going over 6000-6200 a lot. Plan on getting the AFM cam chain retention tool and...

diff. between crown vic 4.6 and mustang 4.6

Same PI Cams. Intake, Exhaust, and the Mustang gets the Ford HP tune. That's my prime motivation to change cams. Burns me that the same cams are used in the CV's and die at 5200. VT Stang I's have the same hp curve up to 5200, but keep on putting out more power until 6 grand or so.

O/T What do you do for a living

Hell, they are just driving what they are comfortable with. Getting your house and paying it off are big in my book. Not using credit cards without paying it all off monthly is a sin. Don't pay for the bankers big house or fancy car. Just another IT consultant here.

How much worse is gas milage on a GT compared to base model.

Good point on insurance! Regarding gas mileage, I've never got less then 20-21 mpg with my 04, and that's spending a day at the track with 15-20 runs plus driving to and from. Damn cheap car for going to the track. So, if it costs you 500/yr more in gas by owning a GT, itsn't that worth...

How much worse is gas milage on a GT compared to base model.

probably just a couple miles per gallon worse for the GT. I get 24-26 with my 04 GT, but the 05 has more horse. Besides, the GT will have much better resale value.

    04 GT dyno today!!

I think the v8 coupe is 3250 + fluids + driver. So your 250 or so high. Shift at 5500, not 6k and you'll run decent times.

    04 GT dyno today!!

260 is at the crank, not the rear wheels. You have driveline loss that affects your horsepower. I suggest you find a dyno shop and get car checked. Most stock 4.6 mustangs are in the 220-230 range. While two different dynos(same brand) can vary 5 - 10 hp at different rpm ranges, its much...
