    Brakes and Brake Kits

Thanks again everyone! Thanks for the attachment Grabber, it will be usefull this weekend (Guess what I'll be doing) and for future ref. One more question, what would be the best way to remove the old drums? Drop the rear and then take them apart or leave the rear in place remove the drums and...

    Brakes and Brake Kits

Thanks for the suggestions! But now I'm confused. I thought I had clue about what I was doing, but not to sure now. On the Vemon and Mustang Steve, you order the kit based on the bearing size (Small or Large) Based on what I have read the rear disk kit was based on the number of axel splines...

    Brakes and Brake Kits

I'm about to start on the rear brakes for my 73 vert. It's your standered disks up front drums in the back. I've been looking around and found a few kits for the back. Mustangs Unlimited has no name kits for around 700 and up. CJ has a Baer kit for around 1300. I know you get what you pay...

    Sound deadener project

I've started doing the inside of my 73 with a product from Summit called Hush-a-mat. I went with this only because of the price. The Dyamat product seemed a little expense. If I had known about Lizard Skin while the car was still in the paint shop (still taped and papered) I would have spent...

    72 351Cleveland 2v issue Help....

I took his statement to mean he had an Edelbrock Performer 4V intake. When I re-read his statement it's not clear which one he is using, but some of his problems do sound like to much fuel. Only he can say what he has.... I agree, I could have gone .060 over (would have had to in this...

    72 351Cleveland 2v issue Help....

I've just pulled my 351C 2bbl and was going to have it rebuilt, till I found out it was already 30 over. I had an edelbrock 2V Performer intake and a Holly 750 riding on top. I trashed the block. Your problem may be using the 4V intake with the 2bbl heads, the ports in the heads are not big...

    rear 28/31 spline

I got lucky when I pulled the Engine, transmission and the drive shift. I was poken around the front of the housing and found the tag under 2 inches of muck. The tag had WES 2.75 and some other stuff (I don't remember off hand) Looked the WES code up in one of my manuels and sure enough there...

    rear 28/31 spline

Check the housing, there should be a metal tag attached to one of the bolts. the code on the tag will tell you how many splines, gear ratio. You might get lucky!

Is there a 71-73 Mustang Restoration Book?

Hi Chris, In the same boat as you. I've bought the books to and they should say 64 to 70. Not much for us 71 - 73 guys. The shop manuels are your best bet, thats after Stangnet of course! This is my best source for info. One suggestion when you tear down, buy a digital camera and take...
