    One other thing, both hoses were originally white. Over time they get hard and brittle and are eventually replaced with newer flexible black ones. Sounds like you have one old hose and one newer hose. And no, it doesn't matter which hose goes where.

    It's a hydraulic motor. Make sure it has fluid and add the appropriate amount through the plugged hole at the bottom of the motor, you may have to bleed the lines going to the hydraulic lifts too.

    When you push down your inertia switch button it's supposed to stay down, not pop back up. When it's up it disconnects the power to your fuel pump. It 'sounds' like it may be a busted inertia switch.

    Yeah, me too. Between the two alternators, voltage regulator, and the 30 or so batteries my car ate, it was beginning to be a bit of a headache :D

    Well, on my 1984 Mustang GT-350 I originally started with a 1g alternator that wasn't charging. So I thought "well, it must be the external voltage regulator." So I swapped that out, and nothing. Just a 12v reading from my multi-meter. So I thought, "damn, it may be the alternator!" So...

    Yeah, they did a real hack job. Looking at the harness I see that they spliced different color wires into the it. So what should have been green and red, ended up orange and black ect. Thanks for responding though. I appreciate it.

    When I bought my 1984 GT-350 a little while ago it had two wires from the voltage regulator just kind of dangling there unhooked to anything. There's an orange and black one and a yellow one. What do they hook up to? Anyone know?

    My speedometer needle is sticking since the last time I broke down and re-installed the instrument cluster. I know I should re-lubricate the cable. So my questions are: what do I use as a lubricant, where do I apply it, and how much do I use?
