Car died while driving - I have no spark...

UPDATE - I swapped out the TFI module and coil last night with no luck. I'm going to try the stator today, but after that I'm running out of ideas in a hurry

Nope, cap and rotor are good, and the fuel pump is working fine.

Sorry Paul, I'm going to sound stupid, but its been a long week, would you mind elaborating a little on the stator?

Car died while driving - I have no spark...

My car died a little while back while driving about 30 mph under very light throttle. Nothing dramatic, just sputtered and died. Anyway, tried to start it again, etc, etc, but the battery eventually went dead trying to do this and wouldn't take a charge. I finally got a new battery last night...

    Roush intake

In addition to being rare, performance wise, they are some of the best, if not the best intake on the market. If I remember correctly the whole kit come with the intake, specific injectors and fuel rails, and a the new hood that is needed.

Car died yesterday, need help on this one

Update - Checked this morning and I have no spark, also lifted the dizzy cap up and cranked the engine, that rotor isn't moving at all. I feel cmfortable with most everything on my car, but I hate electrical stuff and don't know much about it. Thanks for the links and keep the advice coming!

Car died yesterday, need help on this one

Little update here guys - I have been swamped at school and haven't had time to chase this down. I have ruled out the fuel pump and inertia switch. I will check to see if I have spark tonight and take a look at the distributor rotor. Anyone got anymore info on the stator being a possible...

Car died yesterday, need help on this one

Thanks for the correction. How much for a new TFI module? And yeah, I sat at the intersection or about 10 minutes before I got a push.

Car died yesterday, need help on this one

Thanks Dave. My TFI coil is an MSD unit that is about 6 months old. I still have the old one that was good, I will try to swap that back on an go from there. BTW - I'm just curious, what exactly goes wrong in the TFI when it fails?

Car died yesterday, need help on this one

I was cruising around about 30 mph yesterday under part throttle, when all of a sudden my car just dies and will not start back up. I tried unsuccessfully to start it for about 10 minutes and eventually had a friend tow me. Right after it died when I first tried to start it it would crank but...

Need opinion on tuners/chips..everyone chime in.

I'm going to be the devil's advocate here because I have had a terriblt experience with JMS. Regardless of if their chip ever makes my car run well (it hasn't yet), I will never buy anything from them ever again because their customer service has been terrible. I understand that mistakes happen...

to tune or not to tune

I agree, don't waste your money on a tune just yet, especially if the car is running well. True, you could probably get a few extra hp, but for the possible hassles associated with the tune, I don' think its worth if until you have either new heads and a cam or some sort of forced induction.

guys with FMS AL Driveshaft + mad torque come in :)

Yes, I really hope you guys are talking about grinding down the area on the car that is rubbing, not the driveshaft itsself. I don't have a good enough grip of the physics of it to explain it real well, but if you remove any weight from part of the drivesaft (i.e. by grinding), you change both...

    OT: Digital camera recommendations?

I guess this won't be much help b/c its $1500, but I just bought a Nikon D70 kit and its pretty f***ing sweet. But I am also fairly serious about photography. I would recommend a Nikon or Canon, one of the cheaper ones, I'm not terribly fond of the Sony digital stuff, just because of the...

AFR heads and Stock H pipe questions

First, yes you will feel a big difference if you go from E7's to AFR's with almost any cam. The X-cam maybe won't maximize the power gain, but you will still see a significant increase in horserpower. I wouldn't waste the money putting hi-flow cats on a stock h-pipe, I would just wait until you...

    She runs....

I would wait in the tweecer until after you have aftermarket heads and a cam. Just my opinion, though.

proper way to heat up my tires

Yeah, what he said. If you have street tires they really don't need to be heated up, so just skip the waterbox and do a quick little burnout to get the tires clean.

Will blocked off EGR trip a CE light?

The thing is the CE light is not there.....I disconnected my battery for about 18 hours and just drove the car, still no CE light, and I still get the lean thing above 4500, its like I never unplugged my chip????
