looking for advice on a carb

Agreed. Although I would like to also defend my edelbrock 1406 and say it has been more dependable and required less tuning than my old Holley ever did.

Agreed, if you confirm spark, then check fuel, possibly a bad fuel pump.

    lowering spring install....

I have those springs installed on my 68, along with the shelby drop. When the car is up on stands and the suspension is hanging the bottom of the spring is just touching the saddle, but it is still secure. Unless you plan on taking on any jumps, I would not worry about it.

1968 coupe, rear lights not working right

I solved the problem. It turns out the after market sockets that you plug the taillight bulb into are total crap. They were not lining up right to make a good connection to the bulb. I cut them out then spliced in the originals from the old harness. Everything worked perfectly! I'm going to tune...

    Exhaust Thoughts

I have a set of Pypes cat back with the street mufflers and an X pipe. The sound is nice, not too loud at idle and throaty when I lay on the gas. However, I couldn't do the install myself due to the pipes not lining up with the long tube headers (hedman). I took it to a muffler shop that does a...

    A tough decision...

I think you are making a lot of sense, I would do the same if I was in your shoes. If you don't have the time to work on it, sell it and try to find something more complete that you can enjoy. I have felt the same way, but unfortunately my 68 coupe is an heirloom, passed down through my family...

1968 coupe, rear lights not working right

Well I checked the wiring harness for the rear lights and it is plugged in correctly. I also replaced all fuses. The weird thing is that when the headlights are on, you see the taillights blinking, its very very faint but they are blinking, its like whatever causes the blink to be brighter than...

Is this mustang interior still offered anywhere?

It came from a how to article written in 2006: http://www.mustangandfords.com/techarticles/interior/mufp_0609_tmi_upholstery_interior_restoration/index.html I love the carbon fiber door panels and upholstery. I checked TMI's website and it isn't listed. Does anyone know where to get it, or if...

Could I have the wrong flywheel?

definitely the wrong starter, hopefully the flywheel isn't damaged from grinding on it. Take the starter down to the auto parts store and compare it to what they have for your application.

1968 coupe, rear lights not working right

I'm pretty sure the fuses are right, I'll check though. I'll also take another look at the brake light switch. I didn't change the flasher unit out, I figured since the front lights are flashing correctly then that couldn't be the problem. Thanks for the response.

    AOD in classic 67 mustang

Hey There, I found this in another forum, hopefully it will let you know what you are up against. Have you bought your AOD already, if not then try to get a later year one (1989+) as there was a problem with the 3rd gear not getting enough lube in the earlier ones. I bought one out of an 1990...

Pushrods for 289 with GT-40 heads

What roller rockers are you going to use? I have a 302 with GT-40 heads with the 1:7 crane rockers. I was able to use standard length pushrods. You however are probably running flat tappet lifts and not rollers.
