    camshaft upgrade

ye teh stock heads would be a restriction, but the cam isnt large enough to cause drivability problems, and will still show a performance increase. and yes teh gt40 heads would also show an improvement over the stock heads. but remember that a lot of us used the stock heads back in the day when...

    camshaft upgrade

its not bad cam for the street, perhaps a touch larger than what i normally recommend, but it will do fine, even with stock heads. i recommend upgrading to a four barrel carb though, using something like the edelbrock performer rpm intake and a 600cfm edelbrock performer carb. you should also...

    My new 66 mustang

ok that depends on what you want from this car. if you are building a daily driver, the i suggest a weber to barrel conversion, the 38/38 weber is a good one for daily use, and do it as a direct mount. vintageinlines.com has the carbs and the adapters you need. then a little machine work to get...

Plug gap for 1978 302 in '67 Mustang?

your best bet is to dump the dual point distributor and go with a duraspark system. teh dual point was great in its day, but has long since been surpassed by much better ignitions. even the nascar boys are running electronic ignition, and have been for decades. but if you like the dual point...

    My new 66 mustang

a T5 conversion is simple, and kits are readily available. NPD has the very kit you need, including the transmission if you so desire. dazecars has the parts needed to convert to a hydraulic clutch if you wish to do that, a fairly simple conversion. six cylinder engines do tend to be a bit...

    front disc brake conversion kit

jac, one more thing to consider, if you are willing to step up to a 17 or 18 inch wheel, then mustang steve has brackets available to use the larger 13" or 13.2" brakes used on later model mustangs. the brackets are reasonably prices, and the parts are readily available, and everything bolts to...

start by buying the radiator from a reputable source, like NPD for instance. also when buying dont get an aluminum one that mimics the stock design in regards to tube width. the stock tubes are something like 1/2" or so where as a proper aluminum radiator should have tubes that are closer to 1...

    5.0 engine with Tri-Y headers

you are right, but understand that the headers were designed initially for racing, mostly to boost mid range power given the carb and cam used by shelby in the race models. since this is going to be a street car, any loss of power is not going to be noticed, and can even be mitigated by using a...

    5.0 engine with Tri-Y headers

no big deal to run the tri-y's with the late 5.0 firing order. remember that you are just swapping the 5-4 cylinders for the 3-7 cylinders in the firing order.

    disc brake caliper brackets

68-73 calipers bolt to the spindles, not to an adapter like the 67 and earlier cars do. the 68-73 cars use as single piston caliper.

    302 cutting out under acceleration

start by getting the accelerator pump shot right, i think that is where you issue will be. you probably need a larger pump squirter to get a bit more fuel into the system to prevent the hesitation.
