    Woodster, it makes no difference on the switch if the relay is bad. The switch can be good and still not kick on a bad relay to turn the fan on. If you ground the switch and it does not come check the relay before replacing the switch.

    Get the clips from Ford they are .39 cents if you get them anywhere else they are a buck a piece. You will need a dozen per door. I replace all of them unless they have been replaced recently.

    Could of dropped the rod off the handle inside or is the handle broken. You can take the door panel off and check it out. They are not real hard to take off and check things out.

    Those things are famous for not working. Unhook both wires from the fan and hook up power and ground to it. If it starts running it is not the fan but more like a relay. That can be found along side the a/c relay in a relay box under the dash right behind the fuse box, it has a 8 wire connector...

    Does it leak any oil or tranny fluid? Could be a seal leaked and has oiled the disk. But that would not really be an instant thing, you would know something was up before it won't move at all.

    You may not get all the air through the vents. Some of it will escape out of your hole, you should have covered it.

    Yeah it would probably cost more than the car is worth just to have a shop do the swap. You are in Florida maybe there are some members here or on turboford that would do it with you for a fraction of what it would cost for a shop to do it. It is something to look into at least.

    Cone filter and turn up the boost to 17-18 (pushing the a4ld a bit) maybe 16. If you have the funds do the 3" downpipe and exhaust. You will want to get rid of the one legger rear end too. You can slap a traction lock differential in there from an Aerostar, Ranger, Turbocoupe and a couple others.
