what color to paint a notch?

Color doesn't matter. Just don't put a wing on it!

    Stock Rear End?

Take it to a diff shop and have it rebuilt. Specify that it's for a performance application and ask what they can do to make it a bit stouter.

    Pics of my Boys.

Awesome. I've got a set myself, born sixteen years ago in May. Nothing beats twin boys... except maybe triplet boys.

Question about front 5 lug conversion

Congrats on your excellent taste in cars (four-eye). The fronts are easy. The rears are the tricky thing. Master cylinder and proportioning valve replacement/revision is required, etc. Booster stays. See the link twolo posted above - it really is the definitive source for all Fox brake...

    oil issues!!!!!!!!!!

It isn't the oil pump. It's either leaking out all that oil, or burning it. If it's leaking, there should be a big pool of oil in your drive. You'll need to find the source of the leak and re-gasket or whatever. On the other hand, if it's burning it, the motor needs to be completely rebuilt...

    Stock Rear End?

I'm gonna take it one step further and say: Fox GTs in all years came standard w/a Traction-Lok rear, except in 1982. That includes the '83-'84 Turbo GTs. 1991 gearing is either 2.73 or the optional 3.27. All this per the Mustang 5.0 Technical Reference & Performance Handbook.

Late Model Resto 5 lug kit?

The 5-lug upgrade thing is a huge snowball waiting to happen. You wind up throwing down all the money for big brakes, 31 spline axles, new diff, 18" wheels, tires to match... plus all the miscellaneous details and surprises that'll pop up - usually expensive.

    door gap problem

    My sentiments exactly.

    notch

Coupes are considered better for racing cuz they're a bit lighter, and slightly more rigid. This being the case, there's a lot of them on the race scene, and the close association gives them a certain charisma. The other reason is: they are stylistically superior. In other words, they're...

    Got a bike

Mmm... purty bike. Someone I know got their screen name from an F4. It's simple: Your friend crashed while traveling $30, and you're paying 30 mph to insure the bike for a month. See? :D Nice notch, too!

    Who wins?

As described, and assuming everyone knows how to drive/ride their respective vehicle, you haven't got a prayer from a standing start. The shorter the distance, the worse he's gonna beat you. It comes down to something called the "power-to-weight ratio". What's with all the talk anyway...

Already 5 lug now I want to upgrade brakes

The Baer kit comes sans spindles, and axles are optional. I ordered mine direct from Baer; go to their website for the phone number.

    Engine Swap Question

There's prolly lots of folks here who can answer that question, but your car being pre-'87, you might try asking over at foureyedpride.com, too.

    Mac exhaust

The best Mac system for a Mustang is a Bassani system. Sound is a matter of taste, but quality of design, construction, and materials is not.

how loud are 1 chamber flows?

I've got 2-chamber Delta Flows w/dumps and it's pretty loud under acceleration, not bad at cruise. Sounds great. I've driven the car hundreds of miles at a shot with the windows down and loved it. On the other hand, if you don't like the way a 5.0 with a cam sounds, the OEM stuff should be...

    t-tops stangs

No way! Thanks. Very cool, even more rare than a four-eyed T-roof notch. I dream of swapping a T-roof onto my '79 notch. Prolly need to win a lotto or two first... :(

When it comes to cranks and rods, what exactly tod 4340 mean??

Uh... metals are pretty complicated. You're gonna have to do some reading. But yeah, 4340 is strong. http://www.steelforge.com/infoservices/matoverview/mo_alloy_steel.asp

    t-tops stangs

Nobody has exact numbers, to my knowledge. '88 was the last year I've seen or heard tell that had a T-roof, and those were few. A keeper, to be sure. What I really want to see is a T-topped aeronose notch - that would really be something. The VIN doesn't contain a reference to the T-roof...

    I LOVE MY NOTCH!

When these cars were new, hardly anyone would look at a notch. They were the cheap cars, usually 2.3 autos w/hubcaps that your grandmother drove to church. I've had four hatches: 1981, 1988, 1985, and (still own) an 1989. Loved 'em all. After looking at a lot of Foxes over the years, I got...
