Yup. I started the swap 3 or so years ago. Had some problems at that time and the car was put into storage in my grandpa's garage. It never moved until last weekend when I got her out again. Just figure I'm going to do it right this time around. Probably doing the t-5 swap too. I've got...
My buddy has a '95 stang. He wants to do some paint work. We can't figure out for the life of us how to remove the side vents on the rear quarters. Any hints?
Anyone got one or know where I can get one? There are all sorts of them on eBay, but they are all on CD or .pdf. I'm looking for a good 'ole paperback. Unless you guess think the eBay route would work fine, just print it out (70 some pages!)
Are you planning on keeping the turbo engine fuel injected or converting it to carb? There are quite a few circle track parts as far as carbed goes. With the fuel injected route, you are going to have to wire up an ECM for all of the various sensors. And FYI, '78 was the last year of the...
I finally got my '88 vert out of storage. I'm going to repull the engine. I don't think I did the swap right the first time I tried (too little experience, too much frustration, too little patience.) I know I have stuff wired wrong, because when I have it key on engine off, the oil pressure...
No such luck. A guy looked at it today (saturday) He just showed up and had cash, so no more stang for me :( Oh well, I guess it's just fates way of kicking me in the ass to get my '88 T-LX finished
I might be buying another stang. On Sunday I'm going to look at a '72 coupe. It has a 302 and automatic tranny. The guy only wants $900 for it. He says it has a fuel system problem. It runs, but if you give it too much gas, it'll cut out. Should be pretty easy to figure out. But I've got...
Okay, so we got the tranny out today. The input shaft is indeed longer and thicker on the V6 t-5. We haven't gotten the V6 tranny torn down yet, but we did find out the main bearing is toast. The rollers became welded to the races. Not good. It looked like the main input gear had some wear...
I thought of that too. cross my fingers I guess. You know what's funny too? I posted this in the v6 forum and haven't gotten any hits yet. guess us 4 banger guys are just a little smarter :)
Okay, so my buddy bought a '95 V6 Mustang last week. This week, the transmission went out on him. I still had the T-5 I pulled from an '89 4 cylinder lying around. I believe they are the same tranny just different bellhousing. Am I right on this?

gotcha...so pretty much keep it stock is what it sounds like as far as internals go. What about head work though. Would it pay to rework that? I mean, port and polish is a definate, but what about something like putting in bigger valves?
"commercially availible" isn't really an issue with me. I just got a job at Competition Products. If you haven't heard of it, it's a mail order perfomance part company like Jegs and Summit. Check it out at http://www.competitionproducts.com The website is still under construction, but our...
