Do all GT rear bumpers need turned down exhaust tips?

no reason to get smart. if i thought it wasn't tastefully done, i wouldn't have done it. plain and simple.

Do all GT rear bumpers need turned down exhaust tips?

you're probably thinking of something like this. it's just a mac catback. the ball and socket joint for the tailpipes is after the axle, not before, like all others. i just angled it down some. i don't think it looks gay!

racing at the drag strip for the first time

for your first time, while you are waiting in line, watch how people do things so you don't look like an idiot and you're not pissing other people off. watch how the people running the track direct you to pull up to the burnout area, stop you, then wave you on to do the burnout. when pulling...

port match EGR spacer to intake?

yes, i plan on upgrading some time. but if i can get in the 12's with the stock TB i'll probably keep that a little while longer. so, if i can gain a little power by port matching it, it may be worth the time.

Will a Crane HI-6 ignition work for me?

cool. so you're telling me that the HI-6 has 2 rev limiters(one for high rev and one to use as 2 step)? or are you saying to plug a 2 step in?

Will a Crane HI-6 ignition work for me?

i don't have any experience with an aftermarket ignition. you don't think that bouncing off the limiter is like having a 2 step? is the way the way the 2 step works different than a rev limiter? what i mean by that is, with a 2 step you can hold the pedal to the floor while a switch only...

port match EGR spacer to intake?

isn't the street heat intake a 65 or 70 mm opening? stock TB is 60 mm? maybe it doesn't effect airflow all that much when you go from a smaller to bigger opening. i wonder if it effects it some though.

the arrows should face away from the carrier but, also the caps are side specific. you should not swap the drivers side with the passenger side.

Will a Crane HI-6 ignition work for me?

i would like to get an aftermarket ignition. what i really want is a 2 step, but a rev limiter may work. if i were to have a rev limiter set for 5500, would it work as a launch control device? i usually launch anywhere from 4500-5500 rpm's and i'd be willing to launch at 5500 all the time...

    First time at track tonight

i believe nhra rules say that you need a helmet if you run 100 mph or 13.99 and quicker. whichever comes first. convertables are different, i believe you need a helmet all the time. of course, it's at the discretion of your track tech.

    More Stupid Noob Qs

i wouldn't really worry about the motor because of the milage. how was the motor taken care of? do the compression test. you could find a motor or block and slowly work on it a while. then when it's finished drop it in.

    First time at track tonight

i wouldn't be disappointed if i were you. my first ever time out i could barely get into the 14's, and your pretty close to 13's already. you'll get better each time you go. maybe next time you will crack into the 13's. BTW, pretty good 60's for street tires. i would leave the air...

    Long Tube Install...HELP

you don't have to completely remove the steering shaft. just undo the rag joint. you may have to use a small torch to heat those motor mounts up. that's what i did along with a nice breaker bar. i had to climb that mountain too. first time's a pain. i think you should atleast loosen the...

    Can I get 12s?

if you are a good driver, go on a day where the air is just right, track elevation isn't too high, lighten the car up some, have a good tune and run some slicks, it should be close. look at my times. i've been practicing quite a bit though. air was also decent that day along with being...

compression fitting fine for brake line? NEED ADVICE PLEASE!

well, i couldn't find the size lines i needed. i ended up buying ones that were longer. i bent the lines and borrowed my friends flaring tool to make new ends. now i have new lines and shouldn't have to worry about them for a long time.
