cruise control does not work.. any suggestions on what to check ?

You also might have broken the vacuum hoses that control the cruise options. That is what caused mine to stop working. I broke one of the plastic lines when I was changing my heater core, during the removal of the heater core hoses.

Meguiars new NXT vinyl/leather cleaner is great. I just got some, and it is a perfect match for the quality of their car wash.

    AHHHHHH, what soap?

I use liquid soap, that hand stuff you buy for bathrooms and such. I find it suds nice, cleans excellent, smells nice, and NEVER leaves a residue. Plus it is not a harsh detergent.

    SCRATCHED WINDOW

Some will make it appear better, like err, I think its called detritous earth, or something like that. The truth is, nothing will really take the scratch out of glass, unless you have buffers that can do the ENTIRE peice of glass, and relevel it (like those at a glass factory)

    Clay Bar

A clay bar removes all the carbon buildup and other contaminates that give your paint that gritty feeling, even after washing. To use it, basically use a detailing spray, and just keep the area lubricated, and try to keep a fresher part of the clay as your flat working surface, and lightly rub...

    Best clutch for daily driving?

Hmmm, I coulda swore I had a king cobra and my clutch is so tight that at redlights my leg gets tired, and traffic is killer, and I work out!.:) Id be willing to say my clutch needs about 35-40 lbs of pressure to depress and hold, so maybe I don't have a king cobra. Now Im curious what those...

how do i find a draw on my battery

have 2 people. Have someone inside the car at the fuse panel, do this with all the doors closed and the car off, key out. You hang by the battery with the negative unhooked with a simple light tester. Now, check the tester by connecting the negative terminal to the negative wire. A draw would be...

    New PS pump needed?

Gotcha, thanks guys. I'll give bleeding and checking the wheel a try tomorrow, as well as lubing the steering system. Hopefully that will get her running smooth and easy again.

    New PS pump needed?

Nope regular pullies. I should also mention that this is a sporatic thing, not constant. Sometimes the steering is light and easy, sometimes hard.

    New PS pump needed?

At low rpm's sometimes steering takes a good deal of effort, especially at idle or when coming to a stop at a red light. Also my steering doesn't return to center when highway cruising, being more apt to give me a slight kick left or right. I find myself doing tons of tiny manual steering...

    heater core replacement

My first time took me about 8 hours solo. I chucked all the a/c stuff since it never worked anyways, but my advice for you, you can remove ALL the screws from the trim with a power screwdriver, but when you put the screws back in, ALWAYS ALWAYS hand tighten. The 15 year old plastic can't take...

302 to a 351W, advice and suggestions please

Thanks a ton, yeah it would be dropped in the 89, but I think I may hold off a bit now. I'll probably still buy the engine, but I need to do some reading on the issue.

302 to a 351W, advice and suggestions please

FLA5.0, that is my big issue is the ecu. If I can figure out a way to read the code into my computer, I could easily reprogram it once I figured it out (almost having a comp sci degree SHOULD pay off in some way right??). Aside from that though, that was my main issue and possible changeover to...

302 to a 351W, advice and suggestions please

Its a 351 out of an old 12 passenger ford van. Still turns over and runs nicely. Not certain on the model year of the van. I don't think it is the 351 modified, I am fairly certain it is the standard windsor. Its still in the rough stages of talking to the guy, but it is the first one I have...

302 to a 351W, advice and suggestions please

Hey guys, need some advice/help. Found a 351W for 200 bucks, still runs as well. My question is, how easy is the changeup, and do most of the 302 parts bolt to the 351? Also, would it be easier to stay efi or go carbed?? I know the 351 is in the same block family, but I am not certain...

is it hard to install a new headliner?

It is cake, save yourself some money and buy headliner material from Joannes fabric or some place like that. I'm just pissed cause the place near me doesn't have black!! Use 3m spray glue, the high strength (90 rating), its a green can, at home depot for like 13 bucks. Take your old...
