Never thought of the timing pointer... I will go out and take a look. Just wondering, why would the sound get worse when the engine is warm if the pointer is touching the damper? I will check and get back with you...

Screeching noise from my engine - HELP!

This post is also on the '94-'95 post but I thought there may be different folks reading.... Ok - Here is my story. My wife's '94 347 convertible was running great until the end of last driving season (we live in Michigan) when her car developed a strange sound. Everything is great when...

Screeching noise from my engine - HELP!

New harmonic balancer... I lost the old balancer on her car in a big way so it is only about three months old. A lifter noise is more of a tapping so I think this is something else but who knows. Besides, I think that the lifter would make noise all the time. True?

Screeching noise from my engine - HELP!

Not belt squeal... I can take the belt all the way off and the noise is still there. I don't think it is the belt.

Screeching noise from my engine - HELP!

The noise changes... The noise doesn't get louder, but it does change pitch. The pitch goes a little higher in frequency as I get the car up to about 1500 to 2000 rpm and then it stays constant.

Screeching noise from my engine - HELP!

Ok - Here is my story. My wife's '94 347 convertible was running great until the end of last driving season (we live in Michigan) when her car developed a strange sound. Everything is great when the engine is cold but after about 5 minutes of driving and warming up, a screech develops from...

DONT ORDER THE SIRIUS RADIO OPTION!!!!!

I have the Sirius on my '07 I ordered the Sirius on my '07 Steeda Q335 and, while it looks like a pastic afterthought on the decklid, it works great. I don't see anyone complaining about the 3 foot long wire sticking out of the plastic base on the front fender. The hole isn't drilled in, it...

    Engine/Trans Setback question...

Thanks Hissin This is a helpful list of the parts I need but... What I was wondering was has anyone ever relocated the engine in a '94-'95 Stang rearward by 5/8 inch (or more???) so they can use stock '87-'93 parts? I want the engine moved back for weight distribution improvement. I...

have 3500 dollars...347 and HCI suggestions

Other costs... Don't forget that you will have about $1000 to $1200 in machine shop costs to get your $1000 347 kit in. I would go with a 351 and call it a day since you are planning to swap intakes. There is a good 351 Lightning motor in EHay for $500 bucks right now... John

    V6 T5 in a '94-'95 V8 Stang

Has anyone every tried a '96 or later V6 T5 in their GT/Cobra? I heard from someone at Tremec that in '96, the V6 got more power and Tremec sold Ford on the idea of offering the '95 V8 gearset in the '96 and later V6 transmissions. Has anyone tried it or is there a ratio/capacity chart that...

    Engine/Trans Setback question...

I am looking for an engine/trans for the car pictured in my Avatar. It is set up right now for a 351/C4 but I will convert it to a 302/347/351 with a Tremec. Question is - Has anyone ever used the 87-93 bellhousing/trans without using the driveshaft spacer? This would require the engine and...

    swaping intake tomorrow, question

Vacuum tree It is called a vacuum tree and it does nothing more than distribute vacuum from the source (manifold line) to the other items that need vacuum (brakes, A/C, EVR, etc). You can make your own by purchasing T fittings and plumbing hoses where you want them. Good job so far.

    swaping intake tomorrow, question

Don't use the China Wall Gaskets Don't bother with the blue china wall gaskets that came with the Felpro kit. Use your Ultra Black. It will work great but the gaskets will only work if you are lucky and they don't squeeze out. Trust us... Build up a 6 mm wall of Ultra Black, let it set...

A different surging RPM problem. No really...

I did have the surging idle problem but solved it with elimination of the cold air kit which caused my MAF meter to get a turbulent signal at idle. This is after I replaced the TPS, MAF meter, Computer, etc. Ouch. Now, about every other day, the engine decides to rev between 1500 and 2500...

    swaping intake tomorrow, question

Orientation of the thermostat The spring side of the thermostat should be inside the manifold pointing toward the engine. Yes, you do need to seal it. I use Ultra Black spread thinly on both sides of the paper gasket just to make sure that it seals. Also make sure that you seal around the...
