    So I finally had a chance to pull the line off the brake pooster last night. I capped the vacuum tree and mashed on the brakes and the car didnt drop in rpms or die. I hooked the line back up and mashed the brakes and it died. So Im assuming this does mean the brake booster is bad.

    Thanks ill give that a shot. No the car is basically a stock '87 5.0. A friend suggested a vac canister but with it being stock I'd like to get the issue resolved incase some mods down the road demand a canister.

    I think you leave the vacuum line and solenoids in place. The resistor just tricks the computer into thinking everything is still hooked up and functioning as it should be so you dont get the 44 and 94 codes. I could be wrong though.

    Thanks. Im going to check the connection at lunch and I have a DMM so Im going to check the voltage as well. I looked at the hoses last night and didnt see any hole or tears but Ill probably replace them anyhow. All the other hoses were replaced not long ago and I rechecked them as well.

    Thats a weird spot for a leak if its not the timing cover gasket. Its possible the timing cover is cracked......those things are fragile. I found out the hard way lol. If I were you I'd get a radiator pressure tester so you can pressurize the system with the car off and see where the fluid is...

    From your other posts it sounds like the waterpump keeps failing. My leak was actually the timing cover gasket. If you keep replacing the w/p the cause may be a bad fan clutch or messed up fan. If either are bad it will cause the w/p shaft to wobble and the bearing will fail.
