    I think the fact that it's spitting water out confirms that it's an issue above the pistons. It probably didn't set or you've got a crack somewhere, assuming you made sure they were level correctly. Just rip that head off, inspect the block carefully... maybe have the head magnafluxed and go...

    If it's 16 years old and only has 37k miles, maybe stale gas got your pump... mine sat for 1.5 years and when I decided to fire it up, it did, but only for about 3 minutes.     Shim like valve spring shims? I think those are only for spring height. Maybe by milling the heads you've cause an issue with valvetrain geometry... like with pushrod length? Hope you find what it is.

    GT-40P Heads

    Headers can be had from FRPP or summit. Also, the headers might work with 90deg. plug boots... my MACs do work, it's just all really close so I put some 2K+deg. heat wrap on them and no worries! It does make changing plugs a bitch, though... so maybe it's worth the $250 or whatever.

    Red goes to 12V ignition, White to 12V lighting (for the tach's light) and greed goes to the negative coil wire for the tach signal. That's how I did it and it works fine.

    Valve Covers that Clear 1.7 RR

    What brand of rockers are they? Mine clear the stock VCs just fine, but I did have to remove the oil baffle. Might wanna pull them off just to make sure that he did get rid of the baffle, plus you could find out what brand they are.

    Thanks guys, I didn't even think about the heating issues. 25th, do you have any pics of what you've got? I was looking at clearance and I don't think it'll be any lower than my H sits. Weird angles on my driveway might be a problem, though.

    Hmm, you may be right. I wanted to swap out my rear cover so I could have tips, but I'm not sure on the looks of any other rear with GT sides and front, so I figured it might be the middle path. Hopefully someone has done it and can show pics, if not... I'll ask for a PS or something. Thanks!

    Should be fine. I've done it using a flat piece of wood between the jack and the pan to distribute the force.
