anyone with a carbed 87-93 5.0 using MSD ignition module

You did not indicate which MSD igition box you were trying to use. I have to guess that it is a MSD 6 type and a magnetic pickup type distributor. The vac advance has nothing to do with the wiring. "IF" this is what you are using, you use the Violet and green

trans cooler recommendation for built AOD

I am running a 3500 stall converter in mine, and tried a 24,000 B&M, and it was not enough. I added a 2nd one, and it does fine now. If you mount the cooler away from the radiator, and do much in town driving, you will need a fan on at least a small cooler to provide decent air flow in traffic...

    4cyl to 8cyl - state inspection/insurance

I would buy it, register it, insure it, then do the swap. My wife wanted to know why I did not cancel my insurance while I was doing my swap. I didn't want them to ask me to bring the car by to verify it's condition prior to reinsuring it. I am sure they would of denied coverage, or jacked...

Battery Relocation... How difficult is it??

I just recently completed mine. I have a aluminum firewall between the passenger area and the trunk to meet NHRA Rules, so did not use a box for the battery. For street use, the rod for the cut off switch is unscrewed from the switch. Here are several pictures of the battery, rear...

Battery relocation - where to run pos cable

I just finished moving mine to the trunk, along with a fuel cell. I ran the cable between the seat and the door, and used a feed through connector to go through the fire wall.

There are really no GOOD cars left today...

This is the reason I turned our old family car into my weekend play car. My wife wanted me to get a new car for my self, but since I am a little older than most one here, the size of our old 93 Tbird looked more appealing than another Mustang. I wanted the guts of one of the new Cobras, but the...

AOD fluid Capacity wtih aftermarket deep pan

The best recomened off the shelf fluid for the AOD is now the same fluid that is used in the newer Ford automatic transmissions, Mercon V. Several companys make it. It is much better than the older Mercon III. Do not mix them. Too many variables to give capacity, coveter, external coolers, etc...

early AOD probs after carb swap

If it does not go into OD, the TV has too much pressure to allow it. I do not use the factory settings, but prefer something very close to what you did and what Lentech recomends. Just back it off a little till it goes into OD under very light throttle between 45-50 mph. This will give a slight...

Tried emissions testing w/o cats... results

I am running an OR H pipe on mine with bullets dumped. I am thinking of removing the Bullets, and installing high flow cats in the H pipe. I love the sound of the Bullets anf they dure do not hurt power, but I have to pull the car out of the garage to work on the engine or my eyes water so much...

HELP ! Installed lentech vb and now automatic shifting is screwed!!

Lentech Street Term trans are not intended to have the TV cable adjusted any where near like the stock AOD. If there vave body is adjusted the same as there Street Term trans, when you are at WOT the TV valve lever on the trans is supposed to be just short of being at the max position. This is...

Fuel Temps in relation to Power (Cool-Cans - Fuel Coolers)

It dramaticly reduces the chance of vapor lock that can happen in the staging lanes. The temp of the gas in the fuel bowls can get very high, and anything you can do to reduce it, and the intake temp is benifical. The newer EFI cars use a return fuel system to help with keeping the fuel in the...

    What's fuel cell?

Here is the one in my 93 Tbird. It is a Weekend Play car only. The factory tank was under the drive shaft, between the diff and the trans. Made changing rear end gears a pain, plus now all the weight is at the very back, and with the cell, the fuel is pushed TO the pump pickup, instead of away...
