    Whirring/whistling noise from engine...

    Maybe the gasket between the upper and lower might not be sealed, the pcv valve hose might have slipped to let some air escape, ot the fuel rail hasnt seated on one of the injectors all the way. In my experience those are all things that make a whine or whistle. good luck

    Can a short in the alternator cause a drop in top end power, like a skip or miss. Ive got lots of low end grunt but after the tires stop spinning there is nothing.     Need help quick! Rear Lower Control Arm.

    Yea you need to either jack the control arm or the rear up it will relieve the tension. then just wriggle the control arm around while you hold the bolt. you will feel when there is some slack then just bang it out.

    What brand head doesnt have there name engraved or stamped on the front of the head facing the fron of the motor? I know holley, edelbrock, trickflow, and Im almost certain AFR does.

    Also with the mufflers off you will gain some top end, but you WILL loose some low end torque

    Leave the mufflers you have for now thats not the concern you should have. With the gears and a 5 speed you should be mid to low 14's. Use the money to fix that problem. My opinion only...

    I just went through this last week... connect the uppers if you havent done that then jack the rear by the rubber doo bone behind the housing this let you have a piviting action and enables you to work the rear forward back or side to side make sure the anti sway bar isnt bolted on yet do that...
