Thanks, now I get it...
So how about clusters? Are there differences between v6 and v8 clusters? Will the v6 tach work with my v8? Did they look any different? Any idea which years were vss based and not a cable speedo?
I know this is old, but can anyone tell my if any "knee clearance" is lost doing this swap? I want to put one in my thunderbird but the sn dash seems to curve out a lot on the far ends. My knee is about 4 inches from the light switches in my thunderbird (where the SN vent would end up) and I'm...
Thanks! but I'm a bit confused! A screw way inside? When I say the bezel, i'm just talking about the plastic trim that that finishes the dash off; surrounds the radio, HVAC, etc... As long as those trim pieces are interchangeable I'm ok...??
Ok, i didn't know where to put this. I found an 02 SN dash for my 88 thunderbird. 02 has the double din opening under the heat controls. I want to fit it with a 94 bezel that has 3 separate openings so I can relocate the a/c controls to the bottom and make the top two openings into one for a...
Ok, thanks. I was planning on getting MM arms anyway (removing quads to make way for my 10.5's :D) so I guess I'll change my springs and arms and see what happens from there.
oh, ok, well I know for sure there is no rust or tearing. They are rock solid in that way. So does anyone think the spring could cause the offset in the rearend?
I didn't want to say this until I got some answers on the spring (because the rear-end was offset before and after the inncident)...
I have a rear spring so weak that my ride height adjuster on that side needs to be raised about 3" to get it even with the other side of the car. Do you guys think this could cause my rearend to be pushed off center (its off by about 1/2" - drivers side, where the weak spring is)?
I am switching to 94-98 mustang axles and brakes in my 'bird and was wondering if the v6/v8 plates on the end of the axle housing and the caliper brackets were the same between the v6/v8 and cobra models.
I already have axles and the housing end plates from a 96 v6 mustang and figured, if...
One more question: I've seen some pics lately of antimoan brackets that are held onto the axle tube with u-bolts. The brackets on my Turbo Couple are welded (if I remember correctly). What about the 94-98 mustang pieces? Do I need to plan a tool to cut them off?
I am going to the junk yard in the next day or two to get axles and a complete brake setup from a 94-98 mustang. I was hoping someone could give me a list of tools I'll need (or atleast the ones that I may not think of)?
I'm gonna take my power pack and a dc-ac inverter to power an elec...
I know this thread is a bit old but did you ever take your ride in to be straightened?
I just lost a wheel on the freeway (attempted theft left me with one locking lugnut and a bunch of other loose ones on other wheels) and now I seem to be overly sensitive about misalignment. I noticed (not...
well thats interesting. I didn't know that. I don't remember backfiring back in the day before I had emissions gear on the 'bird. Did it actually work for that purpose, or was it just designed to do that?
Yeah, I know... I' have a 68 back in WI but I just can't afford the build (the right way the first time) right now. So the thunderbird is my 'on-going-project-to-retain-my-sanity' car.
Anyway, I still really think that megasquirt is my best option as the tuning and setup is the best for...
Hissin50, you are correct that MS does not have anything built in for these sytems. Just thought I'd see if I could make something happen.
So as far as all this goes, my main option would be keep the EEC-IV running emissions and ignition (because the EGR system needs to advance spark) and...
What do the TAB, TAD, EGR and EEC-IV talk about? MegaSquirt?
I am attempting to swap my thunderbird over to a MegaSquirt fuel injection system and I am wondering how the EEC-IV controls these valves. I would like to get them working off the MS fuel injection computer so I can retain emissions...
