    I contacted Moser once about narrowing and adding brackets to my supplied housing in addtion to making a pair of axles and they flattly told me they would not do that and I would have to buy a complete axle housing from them.

    Back to the original post. Another possibility is the 103mph could also be the speed measured on the track, while the 98 mph mentioned is the speed displayed on the speedometer. We all know how "accurate" the factory guages are.

    widest tire on 17x9

    IMO a 9" wheel is pefect for a 275 width tire. A 17x9, for example, needs a 275/40R17 IMO. It also happens to be pretty much the same height as the 245/45R17 that came from the factory. So no changes are needed for the speedometer.

    No other Fords will interchange directly. Call Moser Engineering (or any other axle specialst) and order the housing/axle package from them and add the parts (3rd member and brakes) from a donor 9" you can get locally. Oh and you will need a different (shorter I believe) drive shaft too.

    Take a 10" diameter 1" thick "wheel" of steel. Accerate it at a constantly rising rate and then abruptly take away the accelerating force. For a short time the wheel will continue to accerate due to it's mass.
