krazy steering after 5 lug swap

Just check the angle. Simple as that.Angle=bump steer kit. No angle=nothing needed.

    Can't start car with key!

It could also be the clutch switch if there is one. Or the method of jumping the switch may have failed.

krazy steering after 5 lug swap

If there is a different angle(make sure you are looking at the flat lip bottom portion of the a-arm) then you a fine candidate for a bump steer kit. I shopped around and got a really good deal on a UPR kit. I personally prefer the tapered bolt type versus the style that requires drilling of the...

krazy steering after 5 lug swap

Well, if he checks his a-arm to tie rod angle, then we wont be guessing. I was told my car was tramelling also, but guess what??? I live in a rural area with alot of farm tractor and 18wheeler traffic on black top roads. New tires and alignment didnt help, but I did have an angle, thus bump...

krazy steering after 5 lug swap

I used to have bump steer because my car was lowered 1.5" before I purchased it. With 93 cobra rims and 245/45/17 tires, it was all over the road, whether it was a grove, bump, or whatever. Really scary. A bump steer kit fixed it 99% of the time. It will still wander on really really bad roads(...

krazy steering after 5 lug swap

Do a quick, easy check. Look at the tie rod to bottom of the a-arm. If it is pretty darn even, then you dont need a bump steer kit. If the angles are different, then you need a bump steer kit to make them parallel to each other. Just make sure to check this with the car on the ground, or at...

Anyone have a bumpsteer / adjustable tie rod kit?

If you have lowering springs already installed, then go look at your tie rod and compare the angle to the bottom straight edge of the a-arm. They need to be parallel or straight to each other. That is what the spacers in the kit are for. Drop spindles will not correct that. Drop spindles are...

    INJECTORS /MAF?

Your setup is very mild and can be tuned with fuel pressure and timing. Now if you want every last hp out of it, then go for the tune. Start out with 10* timing with the spout out and 39lbs of fuel pressure with the vac line off. Just make sure you purchase a boost referenced capable regulator...

Two questions on TrickFlow install instructions

You need the solid lifter because the engine isnt running, therefore the lifter wont be fully "pumped up" If you can get your hands on an old stock roller lifter, you can turn it into a solid mockup lifter. Maybe swing by your local junk yard or machine shop. Just remember, you will need longer...

    INJECTORS /MAF?

I would say upgrade to 30lb injectors with matching injectors, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, fuel pressure gauge, and a wideband if you can swing it. Your stock rails will be fine at your power level, unless you just want the bling bling. PM if you need a set of 30s with matching meter.

Anyone have a bumpsteer / adjustable tie rod kit?

When you install the bumpsteer kit, you want them parallel to the bottom of the A-arm, not the ground. You can do at home alignment to get you close, but it would be best to get it done at a shop. As far as drop spindles go, they are only to drop your car, they will not really affect the a-arm...

    GT40--ARP head bolt question--Pics!!!

You will be fine. The factory bolts actually have way more threads than needed. Just make sure and use the washers and follow the ARP recommendations for bolt lube and torque.

    Timing cover questions

The cup is just an ecentric that bolts on to the front of the cam. I am not sure if the roller cam has provisions to bolt it on though. As far a fuel pressure goes, I am not sure. I am running FI. The old distributor with the LSC gear should work though.

    Vortech crank pulley question

Blk, I had the exact opposite effect when I added my new TW heads. I went from 10lbs with E7 heads to 5 running the TW. This usally indicated less restriction and better flow. I changed to the 7" or 8"(not home right now to check) crank pulley along with a smaller top pulley to get back to...

    Timing cover questions

The distributor for the 351 will not work. You will find it easier to get a timing cover out of the j/y for an older engine that already has the mechanical fuel pump cutout. If you want, you can also diy and use a dremel/die grinder and just grind open the fuel pump passage. You will also need...

    Some ignorant newbie questions

Look into running E-85 fuel or meth injection if you want to run a high cr and/or high boost. Search around turbomustangs.com for more info on either.

    Vortech crank pulley question

I have a question for BLK91. You say you changed to a powerpipe and picked up 2psi? Was this the only mod done at the time? Am I reading this correctly? If so, then actually wouldnt your powerpipe be adding a resriction to the system?

    What fuel pressure for 9PSI?

I am running around 42 or so vac off. I am hooking up a fuel pressure gauge in the car today, so I can see what it does with oost pressure. AS mentioned above, you really need a custom tune to take full advantage of the combo. I will be getting a tweecer soon.

    Is this possible? *Pic*

I took one of those arms apart before. Trust me, it aint worth trying to switch. Just buy a new one or live with it.
