    i think most of them use the tubular k-member for clearance for the pipes. changing one isn't all that difficult. take your time & probably plan a day for it. probably need an alignment afterward as well.

    clean, clean, & reclean the connection on the computer. had the exact same problem. must've cleaned, scraped, and cussed that connector a hundred times & got p.o.'d enough to take it to a shop & they got it started after, of course, cleaning the connection. i don't know what they did differently.

    Lowering and jacking

    Autozone has a small scissor jack that's about 3-3/4" high that'll work for a flat - fits under my subfame connectors on a lowered car. I think it was about $25, made by Larin. At home though, it's on pieces of wood so the stronger jack will fit underneath.

    I'll have to look for it - it's laying around here somewhere. The 'after' dyno was done at a different place than the previous one, so that may account for a slightly lower reading, but the 6-8rwhp stated by Dark Knight is probably about right.

    X-pipe gains???

    you'll get 4hp and lose 1lb of torque with the x-pipe alone. that's what the dyno told me on a nearly stock 99gt except for pullys, magnaflow catback, & the worthless diablo predator -- several suspension mods & different gears though.

    I had the same problem with my 99. My solution was to remove the dome bulb and not worry about it.
