Engine Did something dumb. How screwed am I?!

UPDATE: Got that little sucker! Flushed the motor 3 times with oil and it still didn't come out. Screw it.....out comes the motor! Wasn't too much of a pain 'cause there's no front sheet metal on the car. Dropped the pan and there it was sitting in a far corner....... That tiny little...

    Cruise control relocation

I did it a few years back in my '89. Relocated them and it worked fine and I used a Momo horn button. I found 3 old pics. You can see 'em behind the hanging key....... To the left of the heater controls............. Here's a shot head on..............

Engine Did something dumb. How screwed am I?!

I've drained the oil and strained it through cheesecloth. Nothing. I'm going to pour the oil back in through the distributor hole, drain again and repeat a couple of times hoping to dislodge it from wherever it is. In the meantime I've ordered a small flexible camera so I can look inside the...

Engine Did something dumb. How screwed am I?!

I wanted to prime the engine before startup by spinning the oil pump with a drill. Pulled the distributor, attached a 1/4" hex driver to my long drill extension using the 2 small set screws, chucked it in my drill and went to town. After priming, I pulled it out and found 1 set screw missing...

    Engine PCV grommet is loose

Sounds like a plan. I'll smear some black RTV on the outside ribs and slide it on in. Thanks all!

    Engine PCV grommet is loose

Mine slides in and out easily. If I turn the lower intake upside down, the grommet will fall right out. Shouldn't it be tighter than that?

Fuel Having issues getting my fuel pump to work.

Check my build thread which is in my signature. Looks like I've got it figured out though, thanks!

Fuel Having issues getting my fuel pump to work.

OK....I cut the lt blu/org wire 6" out of the ECU and ran a jumper wire from there directly to #86 on the relay and the fuel pump primes! The wire must be broken somewhere inside the harness. Now I have to replace it but at least I found the problem! Thanks General!

Fuel Having issues getting my fuel pump to work.

Yeah, I just jumped it and no joy. I can run power directly to #87 on the relay and the pump works. I have a Bosch style 5 pin relay and with the key ON I've got 12v to every terminal except #87. There's even 12v to #86 which is the lt blu/org wire that runs to the ECU/data connector. That's...

Fuel Having issues getting my fuel pump to work.

OK, is this how to jump the fuel pump? Red wire from upper right terminal to Pin 46 terminal? The harness isn't in a Mustang but I've swapped a '93 motor/trans/ECU and wiring harness into my '54.

Fuel Having issues getting my fuel pump to work.

Thanks for responding General! Actually, I'm not dumping codes, I'm trying to troubleshoot why my fuel pump isn't priming. I'm following JRichker's 'fuel pump troubleshooting for '91-'93 Mustangs'. Relay: Turn on the key and jumper the ECC test connector as previously described. Look for 12...

Fuel Having issues getting my fuel pump to work.

Dumb question. Is this what's meant by 'jumpering EEC test connector to ground'? Just running a wire from the lower right terminal to a ground stud?

Motorsport Clutch Fork and Clutch Cable Kit M-7553-A302 --- Not As Advertised

Yep, Blue Oval Industries for the win! Just ordered a molded PCV hose from them. LMR wanted $25 + shipping. Got it from Blue Oval for $13 w/free shipping!

Fuel Having issues getting my fuel pump to work.

When turning the key to 'ON' the fuel pump should run for a couple of seconds, then shut off....correct? That doesn't happen. The only way to make it work is to jump power to pin #87 (Bosch style relay) and it'll run constantly. Doesn't build up fuel pressure 'cause there's no fuel in the...

Fox Aod shifter cable missing hardware

If you're talking about the black rubber sleeve, it stays where it is. It's just added protection/reinforcement for where the cable loops. I don't know what blue circle you're talking about.

Fox Aod shifter cable missing hardware

The factory cable wasn't designed to run straight. On Mustangs, it loops around inside the transmission tunnel IIRC. Also, I believe the bracket is integral with the shifter cable. https://lmr.com/item/LRS-7395AR/84-93-Mustang-Aod-Shifter-Cable

Fox Aod shifter cable missing hardware

You probably need to find another bracket or, weld up the holes in your bracket then drill new ones.

Fox Aod shifter cable missing hardware

Not sure if this'll help but, it's a '93 AOD with factory Mustang shifter/linkage but it's not in a Mustang. This is cable routing....... Looks like your PO's may have elongated the holes on the bracket. Here's the factory bracket mounting....... Here's the shifter cable/lever in Park...

Fox Aod shifter cable missing hardware

So what's the problem? Just reinstall your factory shifter and don't forget the TV cable.

Hey whats up! More 2.3 power needed

Yeah, that's a generic picture at the AZ website showing a N/A 2.3 head, although it is the right part # for a turbo head. https://www.autozone.com/external-engine/engine-cylinder-head/p/american-cylinder-head-engine-cylinder-head-ac129cc/404847_0_0 Further research shows AZ gets their heads...
