the reliability of a blown stang

Actually, you could buy the cheapo non intercooled 6 psi kit and save some money (and front end weight). Mine dynos at 342rwhp, 320 rwtq, and gets 22-23 mpg on the interstate. It has a Cobra IRS in it with a 3.27 gear and a 5 speed. And like they said, it's the tune that counts. these guys...

    100K motor with KB

You know, while the car is down, why don't you replace the timing chains? I replaced the ones in my F150 at 120k and they were just about history.

    2001 V6 Lowering Question

The rim size doesn't matter, it's the tire diameter that counts, you can get a short 18 inch tire and it will be the same diameter as a tall 15 inch tire. May I suggest a few mods: 1. Get the Steeda bump steer kit to fix the steering geometry 2. Get the Steeda taller lower ball joint to fix...

    Stripes: Decal or paint?

Actually, I've done both, the paint is more expensive but nicer looking, for my old road race car however, I did the tape stripe. I never had a problem with it, I did it myself just use lots of soapy water and one of those rubber body shop squeegees and a hair drier. The car was stored indoors...

    cobra bumper???

I just did this, unfortunately sir, you get a bumper cover only. dont' forget that you'll need to buy a grill delete since the GT stuff will not fit the Cobra and you will still need the little horsey. It ha sbeen my experienc ethat buying the aftermarket delete kit is cheaper than the ford kit...

Where can i buy a helmet?

I beg to differ, what does an air bag have to do with anything? An airbag is a "supplemental" restraint system, they also (mostly) only work in frontal impacts. They were never designed to replace seatbelts, and there is plenty of things, like the B post, to hit your head on besides a steering...

Where can i buy a helmet?

Stop the madness!! Do not buy a helmet at Wal-Mart for crying out loud. There are basically 2 type sof helmets, #1. SA rated by the Snell foundation for use in automotive applications, the interior will be fire resistant nomex or pbi. #2. A Snell rated "M" helmet for use on motorcycles and...

How to get better 60' ?

FWIW.. Back in the 70's a car that went 14 flat in street trim was actually a pretty fast street car, That STI has 300 plus horsepower and all wheel drive, that's a big advantage, when we autocross, the STI's run in a higher (faster) class than the mustang GTs, so don't feel too bad.

    Maximum Motorsport Parts

You'll like them, good quality and well thought out. When you start messing around with the rear of the car, look me up, I've been the route there, or, you can just can the whole thing and use the MM torque arm, eventually you'll end up there sooner or later. BTW, it's nice to see another road...

    Quick questions about LCA.

I assume that you're talking about adjustable lower control arms, both Maximum Motorsports and Granatelli make them ,among others. Basically you have a large allen head bolt under the spring cup so that you can raise or lower the back of the car. You do not need to remove the spring each time...

    Cam and Nitrous or Supercharger...

IMO, go with the blower if you can afford it, here's why I say that. I installed the 6 psi KB on my 99 GT, on my last trip up to the Smokie Mountains (1200 mile round trip) it got 23 miles per gallon and no less that 21mpg. An added bonus is that in the rare air, the HP doesn't drop off like...

    Hesitation problem is back.

Here's something to look at, my car did the same thing after a blower install. It seems that under certain circumstances the car would hesitate or buck. This is during "tip in" and in my case it was the result of some of the programming. I took the (human) programmer with me on a couple of test...

    C-Clip elminiators

No it's not BS, there have been several articles lately about "c" clip eliminators. Do not run them on the street, the bearings don't lube like the stockers and will seize up. They are a drag only item designed to keep the axle in place if the "c" clips break. Now that I've said that someone...

    Vibrating clutch fork

the T/O bearing is new, along with everything else down there. fork is old, but wasn't worn badly. It seems like there must be a spring that keeps a little tension on it (like GMs) so it doesn't rattle but I couldn't find one.
