    Got my headers finally.

I would have thought the drivers side is harder to fit. I think it will be on mine as I have both power steering and manual trans to contend with. Glad you got yours done. What size exhaust will you be running to the rear?

Argh this is getting old... more ping problems...

What is your total advance at 3500 rpm with the vacuum advance? IF you are over 40btdc, you are most likely gonna detonate, even with 91 octane. You may need to get the timing under 40 total advance to get rid of the ping.

    Rearend

If no one has swapped out the original rear end, then you would have a 8". . 9" rear usually was only found on the V8 Kcode 289 equipped Mustangs.

    Timing Question

Idle timing is usually somwhere from 10-16 btdc. Total advance at full throttle should be around 38. I would think your engine is going to ping like crazy if you have it set at 25 at idle. http://www.gofastforless.com/ignition/advance.htm

Took out plugs and ran compression test... have some questions

http://www.mityvac.com/compression.html http://www.geocities.com/dsmgrrrl/FAQs/leakdown.htm I think your leak is valve guides and seals. I agree with D Hearne about the pinging, I think you need to see how much total timing advance you have, I have a feeling you are over 40btdc...

Need advice on purchasing 65 GT Fastback

A big plus is that you are familiar with the car, and you probably will want to undo some of the stuff he did, but either way, 6K for a fastback that needs work but is in driving condition is about right.
