    CAI or Shifter for First Mod?

    if you got the cash-first mod=gears. actually, your first mod should always be a drop in K&N from your local autozone, then gears and shifter. forget the cai for now. The last performance mods i put on my car were cai and pulleys....

    what are svo heads?

    they have the old non pi style ports-but ported they will make more power than ported pi heads. Houston Performance has two cars-one with ported PI's and one with ported SVO's-and the ported svo's make 40more hp.

    and Lean will not always make more power. Mine is naturally aspirated...and when we tuned it, (it had been running rich) we leaned it out to the 14.5:1 range. Then i had him fatten it up, and it made MORE hp with it at 13.5:1. Then i had the car retuned-and its making its best numbers...

    i think maybe just a tad-no huge difference. the difference was once i had Lt's,offroad h, catback,plenum/tb, and a new clutch and flywheel installed. It didnt pick up a huge amount of peak hp and torque after dyno testing it(it was running super rich) BUT-it picked up TONS in different areas...
