Do NOT look in this thread.

looks/sounds like a autox track car. sure, its not like every other mustang, but atleast everything about the body besides the paint is functional. It may not be the typical mustang, but it sure looks better than some hacked up autox car.

    major oil leak $5,000 later...sucks

Seems to me he spent 5k redoing everything but the shortblock, only to find he has a huge oil leak now, and he is pissed off. Keep all the bolts loose on the oil pan untill you get them all in there, then start tightening.

    major oil leak $5,000 later...sucks

5k isn't anything for a motor. i'm going to have a little over 6.5k in my top end once it's done, and right at 15k in the motor alone alone when it's done.

    Pinion angle

Did you have the sfc's welded in when the cars suspension was loaded or unloaded? The suspension needs to be loaded when putting those in.

    not sure what to do

Why not just go with a big block @ 545CI? Keep it EFI, and make a DIY turbo kit. I had planned on just a 302 conversion, then that went to a 427W with a 400 shot, now its gone to a blown BBF. You know you will always want more power, why not just do it once?

Did I get a good deal on this intake??

My UPR rails say UPR on them, but maybe the older ones dont?

    What rear end is this?

Just get a rebuild kit for it.

    Which oil pump

I went with the standard volume melling on my 351 and 302, but the next oil pump I buy will be blueprinted.

Refurbishing an old block (is it worth it?)

it'd be at least $80 to get it bored around here, and then a lot of people won't buy a 308 block. Personally i'd keep it as a spare.

stagered wheel sizes amyone done this?

Has anyone seen a fox with 17" or 18" wheels up front, and a 15" in the rear? I have been thinking about this for my big and littles. I think I have seen some drag cars like this before, but not sure.

where is the oil sending unit.

When looking at the engine from the front of the car, it is behind the timing cover, on the right side, screwed into the block.

    push button start....

To replace the tumbler, the key has to be inserted and turned. My option was to drill out the little lock on the bottom, but after drilling all the way through, it still doesn't want to come out.

    push button start....

I haven't drove my car in a few weeks. I went to drive it yesterday and found out I have lost my keys for it, no biggie, I started to drill out the tumbler. I was wrong, I can't get it out! Since this is a drag oriented car, I want a toggled hot and push button start system. Does...

    5-lug conversion

When I dig back into my suspension, i'm getting RaceCraft 2" drop fox spindles, and alum. braking system, and ditching the SN95 stuff, but of course that gets into the $$ too.

You need to match your shift points and mph to your gear. http://www.corral.net/tech/gearcalc.html

    FMS VALVE COVERS

Alot of people have to do this, that is why others go with the "tall" version, and get a intake spacer. Just make sure your oil cap is always on, and you should be fine. A filter in the piping above the baffle may be a good idea though.

    5-lug conversion

I thought they will bolt up, but you can not use the front dust cover? I have heard of people using a spacer so they can use the cover.

    5-lug conversion

With the two left side axles, the same width will be retained as stock, and the stance will also be what you had before the swap. If you don't go with the SN95 front, you will be limited when it comes to using the dustcaps for the wheels you choose on the front. I am using Weld ProStars.
