    Yet another header question

Any "old timers" out there? (like me :D) I called Dynomax's tech support and even they were stumped, they pulled an "old" catalog (early '90s  ) and "042" was skipped over? I really don't want to pull a motor to see if they will fit :( Thanks, Francis

    Cobra II Clone

The fenders aren't marked with a number but underneath the front fenders on each side is a plate that is welded to the upper rails. This plate is stamped with the consecutive unit # (last 6 digits of your VIN).....not easy to swap over. Not sure about the 302 or V6 cars, but on my 2.3 car the...

    T-Top Brace Question

And the cowl mount: Hardest will be finding "correct" fasteners. The ones on the cowl are 3/8" ?coarse thread (check the braces themselves to confirm) but because of limited space they have small heads with integral washer that use a 3/8" wrench. For the side brackets, IIRC they used a...

    Yet another header question

I just picked up a set of old but never installed headers for a 302. The guy I bought them from "said" they were for his '76 Cobra that he never completed (I purchased his mint hood with scoop :) ). These are not stamped "046" as I hoped but rather "042". The passenger side appears identical...

    Center Console Repair

Tony, The measurements I used recently were: for the rear bracket, the distance between the rivit hole for the bracket and the center of the rear e-brake mounting bolt is 1 3/8". For the front bracket I used 26 1/2" from the rivit hole to the center of the front e-brake bolt. To remove...

    NEW UPHOLSTERY>>>

For correct material for your seats try: http://www.smsautofabrics.com/wesell.htm They have an online info form. I filled it out and they had sample swatches sent to me within a week. They have the exact velour I need for my Ghia ($95 yd!), the vinyl for my top in the correct grain and color...

    Blue centers?

Ahh yes...not a first season episode I was watching. Farrah was gone, it was Cheryl Ladd driving the (a) Cobra. They were definitely the lacy spokes, now I'm wondering if they didn't use this car much? The episode I watched they were trying to catch a guy who was ripping off ATMs.

    Blue centers?

Insomnia struck last night so I was watching Charlies Angels at 3:00AM. Lot's of great footage of the '76 Cobra. :nice: One thing I noticed it had the all polished lacy spokes with blue "snake" center emblems. I've only seen one pitted one on Ebay ever and was wondering were these only on...

    how must would it cost...

Another thing to consider is the roofline is not the same between coupes and hatchback IIs. If you check the doorglass between them you'll see the coupes have a squarer opening while the hatchback cars have a gentle curve. The T-top panels are curved the same way so putting them on a coupe...

    my project...

As for the speakers, you have a few options: 1)Factory stereo ones were in the doors (6" round) but requires the correct door panels or...gulp..cutting new holes 2) You can get a 6"x9" with a single bass and twin tweeters and 4-wire (stereo) hookup that will fit in the factory location...

    Help: Mustang II myth list

Ones I heard just last week: "The Mustang II is built on a Pinto platform" (actually the Pinto was updated in '74 to match the Mustang and still only about 10% of the parts interchange) "The Mustang II used only re-cycled steel like tin cans, that's why they are all rust buckets" (This...

    Carpet

Pretty well all places deal with carpet made by ACC, their website is here: http://www.accmats.com/ Good quality stuff but you will have to have an upholsterer (or someone with a heavy duty machine) sew the plastic retaining strip if you have the fold down seat. I bought mine from a local...

    engine mounts V8 vrs V6

Jon, I did the reverse swap on my daughter's '78 T-top. I kept the passenger side frame mount (worked fine with the 302) but swapped the driver's side. PM me your address in Burnaby and I'll send you the 2.8 one. Should only take a week or so by mail and no customs :) Afraid I don't have...

    Needle valve

Yup, definitely sounds like the needle valve stuck open (at least if it's an intermitent problem) If it does it all of the time you may have a bad float. You could try one of the fuel additives to clean the system (the external spray won't help you here) but a rebuild on the carb is fairly easy...

Would like you oppinion on tires, pls.

One more vote for the RWL :nice: I'm biased because I have the slotted rims with Coopers on my Ghia...looks great to me :D Francis BTW: You will find the car rides a little harsher on the Cooper Cobras than other brands, they are a pretty hard compound. Not the greatestest for traction...

I think I've seen that somewhere ;) (except the bonnet I'm using was purpose made back in the 70's)

    '76 2.3L w/ turbo??

I've been tackling this on my II for about 5 years now (I still haven't started her up yet...I'm a little slow ;) ) Ford did offer a carbed turbo in 79 to 81. These cars are oftet maligned due to poor reliability (many owners just didn't maintain them right and cooked their turbos) HP was around...

    King Cobra parts question

 Canadian dollars :D but still close to 1K U.S. I should clarify these are used parts not NOS. If they were NOS I don't think the price is so unreasonable, but these have 25 years exposure to the elements. I'm guessing he's going to be sitting on these a while.

    King Cobra parts question

I was made aware of someone offering a "package deal" on original King parts locally, included are the front dam, rear spats, scoop and rear spoiler. Supposedly these are all factory parts but he is asking (in my eye) a ridiculous price. (lets just say its over 1K! ) Since I NEVER see...
