    Octane Booster

    I'd guess that the weaker boosters would be about "30 octane numbers" (or less) which would = "3 octane points" - the better NOS and Amsoil 2000 are probably closer to "70 octane numbers" = "7 octane points" ...when used per directions on bottle. Maybe.

    Junk is worthless, but good octane booster works. Probably why KB says you should always keep a bottle of NOS 12007 in your car at all times. Amsoil octane boost seems to be okay too.

    Thanks for the advice, but I think I'll be okay with this transmission builder. I don't go to the track and I don't street race (any more) so I basically have more power than I need, but for now I'll just stay away from OD if I'm giving it much throttle at all.

    This is what broke... Transmission guy said he never saw one broken so bad as mine. He said the "fat end" breaks more often, but mine was snapped in two pieces at the long splined end. The splines got rotated bad enough it actually split the "Drum" spline area that the shaft goes...

    You don't need the Kool Air kit, Meter, BT, and TB to get you going but it will make a difference. The chip you get with the 9 psi IC kit will have to be redone, I'm sure, if you go back and add the meter (maybe new injectors) and other parts later. KB will update the chip to handle the new mods...

    Running the factory cooler in radiator and also a Ford Racing cooler. Had 37,000 miles when things got ugly - WOT going into OD. I forgot to turn the OD off... :bang:

    My fluid still looks brand new, so I'm hoping that I didn't fill my cooler(s) full of clutch fiber and metals. Hope it just "broke" something. I've checked Rock Auto and they sell an "OE" transmission and converter for less than 1,200.00 but I don't know if it is built any stronger than stock...

    When getting a High Performance transmission, is AODE and 4R70W the same thing? Where's the best place to get an automatic for a 2002 model? And are they a direct replacement or do you have to do fabrication work and chip reflash? I'm using the KB chip and I'll be doing the install myself...

    My brother has an '05 GTO that he thought was really fast and scary off the line, but he screamed "cut it out, freak" when he was with me in my car and I stepped on it at about 15 MPH with my KB and 4.10's :shock:

    O2 sim life span

    Someone posted that his Dallas Mustang units would go bad after every 6 to 12 months. Seems like he changed the rear sensors the last time he replaced the simulators and after almost 2 years everything still works fine.

    I use 5 quarts Amsoil 5w30 and 1 quart Lucas "pure synthetic" (the thin stuff) oil treatment and the new AE Amsoil oil filter every 5,000 miles.

    tired of Magnaflow; should i get Borla or Bassani?

    I had the Stingers and catted X, but I actually prefer my new "Steeda" Borla and Magnaflow O/R X-pipe combo better. More of a mellow rumble and less of a loud rasp. And the catted X and Stinger wasn't that much louder than what I have now.
