The 1-D-1 is very hard on the tranny(mostly the overdrive). Try starting in D floor it and soon as it shifts to 2nd pull shift back to 1st which will be second and RPM out then shift to 3rd. Hope this makes sense.
If the tranny is already out, try and scrap up some extra cash and get the stall convertor, cause it will really make the car launch of the line, I think the convertor is the heart of the tranny JMO.
Has anyone heard of mixing up your roller rockers 1.6 with 1.7. You would put the 1.7 on the exhaust and the 1.6 on the intake. I heard this make more power then just running a complete set of 1.7 or 1.6.Any info on this would be great. The reason i'm asking is cause i'm going to buy some 1.7RR...
OK.....................I want to put a intake spacer( between upper and lower intake) and was wondering what i would gain from this, is it worth it and who makes them and what thickiness do they come in. My mods are listed below and would it work good with my set up.
myroc :D
I just bought a Mach 1 hood and what should i do to prevent the hood from flying open.I dont really want to put hood locks on, so i was thinking of running a chain and lock on the inside to prevent hood from flying open, Is this a good idea.
This is my SLEEPER,with slicks and on the bottle 12s maybe 11s.Haven't been to the track yet................but soon :D Check sig for mods. What do you think......SLEEPER??
I had kinda the same problem, did all my mods a once and the stock cooling system couldn't keep her cool. So i got a FMS alum rad and a black magic flex-a-lite electric fan and it made a big diff, no matter what the temp is outside she stays at 170 and thats with a 165 Thermostat.Remember to...
My 1990 LX vert is 3230lbs with me in it and i'm 192lbs......so do the math. This was done on a calibrated scale, did it three times and took the average.
My combo should be close to 300 RWHP ( with out the nitrous) and i have no problem driving it around. Check my sig , heads and intake are all ported and polished and matched. Hope this helps.
I have that same intake and if you match it with a set of EB RPM heads you will notice a hugh differance in power. Check out my mods in my sig, i have'nt takin it to the track yet but it pulls really hard from 3000 to 6000.
Good luck
Check my sig, and the guy that built my motor said i could change the RR to 1.7 with plenty of clearance. The car is a 1990 though with forged notched pistons.Hope this helps.
It means that Edelbrock says that you can take the stock heads off and replace then with there alum heads, in other words there a direct bolt on. Hope this helps .
Cheers myroc
