    98 was a bastard year for mustangs - used newer stuff from new edge cars while utilizing older systems in other spots. My old 98 was able to do the turn key to program a new fob. I'm not sure 98 is treated the same across other ford brands though.

    Does it have a "welded" on tag or emblem? I've heard/seen old bbk ones that had their "insignia" on a thin metal plate welded on rattle like hell before. is it an off road or catted pipe?

    Could be the main bearings in the trans making some noise (total speculation there). When was the last time you did a fluid change or checked level?

    Agreed on a vac test or spray some carb cleaner etc around the intake gaskets. Sounds like a vac leak/unmetered air is getting in. But hard to say via the interwebs diagnostics committee.

    Looking at your parts list - I may have missed it somewhere - what stall and gears are you running? Next - power through an auto will always disappoint a bit. My built auto 2v only put down 408 on a mustang dyno but ran 11.45@119 with a 1.67 60 off the ft brake - stall and gears helped a ton...

    I think most of the issue is that there isn't much choice for an off the shelf off road pipe anymore. Kind of a get what you can get and make it work scenario.

    I have some wrenches made for fittings that certainly help. Had no idea they made a "socket" version. I'll have to look for a set of those next time I water board myself with fluid changing one out.

    Replacing racks is one of my least favorite jobs on these cars. Threading the lines into them while dripping fluid down into your arm pit is such a good time. :D

    Is it water or coolant? Heater cores usually drain outside if leaking but that drain can clog and then back up into the interior (More comon on a fox vs sn but still happens). You'll need to verify but sounds like a heater core or at least dash removal is in the cards.

    That does look like they setup the Jig incorrectly. Seems to be an easy enough fix with a chop cut. You could cut it yourself, rotate to where it would fit, mark the pipe and have someone weld it back (or you if you can weld) easy enough.

    Hard to see on the angle but you should have a heated PCV valve and it goes there. Guessing someone put a normal one in it's place and left that unplugged.
