    Thanks.... it seems like the spatter may be the way to go, simply because it looks better than the plaid design. But I am still amazed by the fact that about half of the '69's I have seen have spatter, and the other half have plaid. Did you buy the vinyl or original style mat?

    I just don't think its worth taking any chance of screwing the engine up. Clearly there was nothing wrong with it before it was put in the garage, so why mess it up now.

    Rebuild it.... don't even think of turning it over. I have seen many engines damaged because people attempted to turn them over while they were ceased.
