I'm tired of Vapor Locks. Any suggestions on electric fuel pumps?

I use a Carter Electric pump mounted back by the tank. I haven't had any real issues except for the niose sometimes. No regulator, pretty much plug and play. It was mentions you could use a small cheap pusher pump mounted in the rear to help. Where is the fuel line getting hot at? Can you...

    speedometer cable???

It goes though the firewall just below the cowl seam to the inside of where the driver washer nozzle is. See picture. Follow the cable in just behind the corner of where my valve cover is, the Cruise control speed sensor is there and it the cable goes straight in from there. Tim

How do you tell a v8 radiator from a 4 or 6 cyl

The V8 radiators are all 3 core. the 75-76 have no cap in the top tank. They used a cap that was in the upper rad hose. The 77-78 all have a cap in the top and you can easily see the three rows of cores inside. The radiator is very large compared the the other two. Top hose connects on the pass...

Anyone have problems with Polyurethane strut rod bushings?

On the early cars is has to do with an already corrosion weakened bar and a overly stiff bushing. People were breaking the bars off at the bushing because the poly bushing makes the bar flex and not the bushing. Make sure you have a good bar to start with there is usually some corrosion (rust)...

Help using a non MII stock 302 Oil pan

I got a factory stock windsor pan to fit around the power rack with only a little hammer beating. A lot depends on the condition of your motor mounts. If they are badly squished and rotten you are going to have more issues with rack clearence. Tim

    Hood question

The 74 hood and header panel are one year only parts. The 74 header panel was 4-5 inches across at the top where the "F O R D" letters were and the hood is almost straight across from fender to fender. In 75 they changed the front core support and pushed the radiator out to make room for the 302...

    Bushings on subframe

There is no direct replacement available. These were crimped to the subframe part and never offered separately. Take a look at this thread It's mainly about the AOD install but it also covered replacing those bushings and what was done to replace them. Mustang II Network Forums - Project...

    I Bought a Rare Mustang...Yet Another Project

Very cool! I have a similar project going on myself. It's not a Mustang Jr. but along those lines. It used a more generic go-kart frame and the bodies were made by a Company in Tempe, AZ. I bought it from a friend a year or so ago, to fix up for our daughter. Mustang II Mini Cobra |...

    MSD Street Fire Ignition?

I've had that box in my Cobra for over a year now. Knock on wood not a single hiccup. It's under the hood where the Duraspark box was and even having been caught in a couple of rain storms I've still had no issues. Sounds like you either got a lemon or something else is up. Tim

    Need help tranny ?

Was the transmission from a v8 car? The bell housing may need to be swapped. The mustang II V8 bell will bolt to any small block but you WILL NEED the smaller special flywheel, block plate and convertor for evetything to work right. You are must better off using the "standard" 157 tooth bell for...

Need help with Cobra II exhaust!

Headers are still made by both Hooker $$ and Heddman. You pay for quality. But the Hookers don't have a bolt-to collector. And the heddman's #1 tube goes under the main crossmember. Tim

Do I need to pull my transmission?

No, reach up around the top rear of the transmission, at the trans to tailhousing seam on the drivers side there should be a little metal cap you should be able to feel it and it should rattle ound loosely. Usually the later years don't have an issue with the vent getting plugged. that is more...

Do I need to pull my transmission?

You need to make sure the vent is not plugged. Depending on the actual year of the transmission depends on what is loks like the earlier years used a small tube on the drivers side toward the rear i believe. The later years used a small loose fitting "cap" like vent on the top front of the tail...

How hard is it to find the following

The headers just have to be specificly for the 74 (ok really 75) to 78 V8 Mustang II. Make sure they fit those years some companies for some reason think mustang II's were made into the 80's.. :nonono: The Hooker base part # is 6120. Two options paint and ceramic coated. Not cheap though...
