Progress Thread 2001 Bullitt #265 - Build Thread (LOTS OF PICS)

Have done just a little bit of work on the Bullitt over the past few weeks. Just some odds and ends to keep me busy until I can spend the $$ on exhaust to get her CA compliant. Went to the junkyard hunting for a factory catalytic converter H-pipe, but as I suspected they were cut out before...

Expired 2001-2004 Factory H-pipe with cats - Southern California

Anyone in the Southern California area (San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside counties) have a factory stock H-pipe with cats that they are looking to sell? Let me know. EDIT: No longer needed.

Progress Thread 2001 Bullitt #265 - Build Thread (LOTS OF PICS)

Plans for the future I've already got a lot of plans for the future of the car. I will be keeping the essence of the Bullitt, with some tweaks to make it better. Here are the mods that I have planned: 50-state shorty headers Full cats Borla cat-back exhaust with quad exhaust tips Suspension...

Progress Thread 2001 Bullitt #265 - Build Thread (LOTS OF PICS)

I just recently reacquired a 2001 Bullitt Mustang, #265 in Dark Highland Green. She has accumulated 187K miles on her. This will be the build thread, to document its restoration/rebuild and turning it into an autoX/track toy. Vehicle History In 2004, we bought this exact Bullitt from El...

Back again with a 2001 Bullitt Mustang

I've been a member of StangNet off an on for the past 15 years or so. The first Mustang in our family was a 2001 Bullitt, Dark Highland Green #265. My husband owned that for a couple of years. My first Mustang, I got a few months after we got the Bullitt, was a 2001 Mustang GT...

Thinking about buying my old car back

I was in the same boat just recently. The 2001 Bullitt that we owned previously, was sold to my dad around 2006. He then sold it in 2012 to my brother, who is now looking to get rid of it. It has had a rough life being a daily driver, and currently can't drive over 35 mph without sputtering...

    Suspension 2001 Gt conv

I no longer own the car, but here are a few comparison pics: Stock: Lowered on the Ford Racing G Springs. To me, it was the perfect amount of drop. I would occasionally scrape the lower chin spoiler, but only on really steep inclines. a

Stock "Before" Photos This here is my second Stang, an '06 GT Premium convertible. I've had the car for about 5 months now, and I love this car. I am about to do a few appearance mods to the car, and needed to get some decent "before" shots of the car. Here they are, tell me what you think...

    Remote Trunk Release problem

Last weekend, my trunk release start to behaving in an interesting manner. Instead of one "pop" and the trunk was open, it now makes noise as if it is being activated about 20 times in very rapid succession. The trunk will still open no problem, just weird that it is making this noise. I have...

    Removal of Overhead console

I was looking to integrate a homelink transmitter up there. I've seen another one integrated, and it looked slick. But, that was in a coupe. With the convertible switch there, there's no room up there. So... gonna place it somewhere else.

    Removal of Overhead console

Thanks for the response guys. I pulled every which way, but just couldn't get a good hold of it to release it from it's fittings. I ventured up with a small flat blade screw driver, and that helped. Now knowing what it looks like up there, I know how to attack it going forward. :)

    Removal of Overhead console

I've searched and could not find the answer to my question. I need to remove the overhead console (location of the map lights and convertible top switch). I've consulted the Ford Service Manual, and all it says is: Here is the image from the headliner removal procedure. I'm guessing...

    Back with a new 'Stang

Thanks guys for all the welcoming. I'm glad to be back. Of course my mind has already probably spent about $20K in mods... now to figure out the order in which to upgrade the car and to do so as the wallet allows.
