    check your exhaust flange bolts. ford left one loose after re-installing my x-pipe and it bugged the hell outta me till i got home and fixed it. description sounds the same, mine didnt rattle through certian RPM's either.

    bad rod bearing?? but that wouldnt really explain the noise going away when it gets warm, unless the bearing explands enough when it gets warm to fill the gap. my buddy had a similar problem on his supra and it turned out to be a bad rod bearing.

    im not familiar with TSB?? on the repir order it says 2nd gear/syncros, and 3rd gear/syncros. nothin about 1st or 4th.

    no the sun was not ont it. i was on the freeway when i noticed it, and like i said, the heat went away when i switched to CD. i dont plan on takin it to a dealer. i used to work at a dealer and they rape you hard when ever you go in for anything non-warrenty.

    same thing with the O/R X-pipe i have. says not for ca smog vehicles, but they still shipped it to my door. i kno it wont pass smog as is, but i heard if i get caught it something like $10,000 fine:rolleyes: you should still be able to buy it, just dont get caught.

    What to do with $4000?

    +1 for the blower or save it. i was saving for a novi kit from mph, then i ended up moving for college. now i own a R6 that is faster than my stang would have been if i had blown it, and i still have the stang for friday nights:D

    if it smells like sulfer....check the battery:shrug: i smelled sulfer in my gf's truck the other day and she was complaining about it running weak, so i looked at the battery and the battery was leaking all over the tray. we replaced it and now the truck runs great...for a chevy...
