i was listening to the radio yesterday in the afternoon with the A/C on, and i noticed that the face of the stereo was extremely hot. i couldnt hold my finger on the display for more than 2 seconds. and next to the volume control i could feel the heat without touching it. so i switched to CD and in a few minutes the face was mildly warm. why would it be so hot with the radio on rather than the cd player???

i noticed that sometimes when i start my car, either cold start or warm, the front speakers/ tweeters will start playing and a second or two later the rear speakers will turn on.

any ideas??

My radio gets somewhat warm too, although i wouldn't call it hot. All radios build heat of some level.

As for your second question. Mine does this as well. I just think there is a delay before the amps kick in. It's not just the front speakers, the rears are on too but they lack bass for a second or two

was the sun shining on the radio face?

The amps take a second to kick in - this is normal. i might check the heat of the radio again, and maybe take it to be checked out at a dealer if you think there might be a proble. But please, don't take it to the dealer when it's not hot like you're saying, or they will think you are either stupid or insane lol.

no the sun was not ont it. i was on the freeway when i noticed it, and like i said, the heat went away when i switched to CD. i dont plan on takin it to a dealer. i used to work at a dealer and they rape you hard when ever you go in for anything non-warrenty.

wow, i never noticed if the stero was hot, i dont think it gets that hot. mine also kicks in a second after the radio is turnde on....as stated above that is completly normal.

my stereo gets super hot when the A/C or Heat is on especially.... however its even more noticable for me since I have a billet knob... and the faceplate...
