A search for "default" turned up nothing of any use.
I've had a VERY weird idle problem for what seems like forever now.
I replaced my Pro-M 75mm bullet with a C&L 76mm meter because I was told it was the problem. The C&L didn't clear it up.
It's doing the same thing again (I've posted...
34 (R) EVP - EGR did not respond properly during test - EVP
42 (R) System rich - Fuel control
42 (M) System was rich for 15 seconds or more (no HO2S switching) - Fuel control
(R) = Engine Running test (M) = Memory code (O)=Key On Engine Off test
Taken from TroubleCodes.net...
I have the same damn problem. Car goes from idling great, to idling under 1000 and smelling very rich with a big time fume smell.
So far I've changed MAF meters, ECT, ACT & 02 sensors to NO avail.
I've got no freakin' idea.
Yeah, what Daggar said. I have the March kit and yanked the hose off the box, because the amount of crap that was inside it - and how quickly the filter got dirty - was getting on my nerves.
Good luck with the project.
I dunno if I'd wanted a block that's already been bored .040" over. God forbid something happens and you need to bore the cylinders.
.040" over is pretty much the max on a 302, right?
That sounds a lot like what's on my car. It's the sensor for the automatic climate control. Do Mustangs have that?
Only other thing I could think that it would be, would be the ECT sensor.
Is it on the front or back part of the motor?
I have an aftermarket MAF and it still does it. I was told that the car looks at the ACT and ECT sensors during open loop operation and figured that would be my problem. Guess not.
As for why it runs better when warmed up after a few minutes - is it's running mainly off the O2 sensors. That's...
I have the same problem with mine. I've changed the ACT, ECT & IAC sensors, O2 sensors, clocked the C&L and even re-adjusted minimum idle and the TPS and it still does it.
Beat the hell outta me what's going on. lol
So then I was close with my 3.5 hp / 18.93333333 lbs. of torque then.. Sweet. lol
Just wanted to know what you pros thought. I guess I'll find out for certain in a few weeks. I'll post the results here when all is said and done.
Until then, thanks again. :nice:
