    Show some interior mods...

I noticed the glovebox handle too. Mine was the same way - I died the handle black. Only takes about ten minutes to pull the box apart and get it ready for die. I'd like to see some more hatch area pics. Mine is all apart right now (had the quarter windows out) and I'm looking for some...

Lets see your foxes with racing strips

Here are my stripes... They are still in process, as I have not painted the hatch and rear bumper yet. I am stopping the stripes at the tail lights and keeping the bumper solid red.

Hey look - another progress thread!

Made some more progress - doors are on the car, interior is getting back into shape (re-did the door panels too), wet sanded and buffed probably half the car. Right now I'm doing some body work on the hatch, and then the hatch and back bumper will be painted. More pics:

Removing Rear Interior panels on GT for 1/4 window install

Here are a couple tips since I pulled my 1/4 windows this fall and it's still fresh in my mind: 1. I pulled the backseat (top and bottom) and I'm glad I did. It made dealing with that big ol' piece of plastic a lot easier. 2. If you are just swapping windows, don't bother removing the...

    Project 81 Hack Job!!!!!

Looks real good man. It's funny how every painter does it different. I painted the doors off the car and shot the jams of the car as I painted the quarters and roof. I think what you're doing is easier. Again, nice work.

Help me decide. im soooooooo confused

My vote goes to the original color - all silver. Especially since you are doing your own work, that will be the most forgiving color of the bunch. I assumed you'll have some mistakes to wetsand and buff out. Dark colors can be a PITA.

    Underhood Dress Up Ideas, Opinions

I agree with above - too much black. My opinion is the stock colors look pretty nice when it's all cleaned up a bit...

    rr ajustment

If you've tightened them so far that you're holding the valve open at TDC, then you will not have compression. Put a vac gauge on it and see where you're at. If vac is real low - or jumping around, there's a good chance you have them too tight.

    Black satin paint questions

Another vote for Dupli-color Black Trim Paint. I've found it's very temperature dependent. I forget what the can says, but only use it between 65 and 80F. As someone else mentioned, you can't wet sand out mistakes (well, you can, but buffing satin doesn't work). The best method I've found...

Anyone on here w/ a red 89 notch in WV?

If so, I was the idiot in the minivan pacing you for about ten miles near the toll on 77. I'm traveling for work right now (company vehicle). The car is really sharp. Well done. Made me wish I had mine out!

    What would happen if...

I have a good friend that works in sales for Summit. Last year he had some guy call him ordering a "driver's side" hi-po head for an LS1 Camaro. My friend assumed he had damaged the original one, but later the guy mentioned he was going to put one head on one year, and one on the next, b/c he...

Oil Pan Gasket Change - Prime Oil Pump?

FYI - I was successful in swapping gaskets with the engine still in the car. Here's some tips that will hopefully help someone else: 1. Summit part number FEL-OS34508R is definetly the one to buy. It's a one-piece gasket, with a steel core, and it comes with 4 plastic guides that hold the...

Oil Pan Gasket Change - Prime Oil Pump?

I'll be attempting this with the engine still in the car. All I'm doing is dropping the pan far enough to snake in a new gasket. In my searches on this board, I found a couple posts where jichker has copy and pasted his how-to, and he states its necessary to prime the oil pump after this job...

    Skinnier quad shocks? De-sheath them?

I have KYB's flipped and shields cut off. This gives room for my drag radials. Cutting them is no big deal. I also tried running without quads and had a ton of wheel hop with my street tires. That's with all aftermarket arms and a swaybar.

Hey look - another progress thread!

Thanks again guys. To answer the above questions: Yes, the stripes are painted. The black actually gets painted first, then I mask off the stripes and paint all the red, peel off the tape, and clear everything. I've been painting for 3 yrs now - just my own projects and friend's stuff. As a...

Thanks guys. ALL work was done by me. I'll try to get some better pictures next month when it's all back together.

Hey look - another progress thread!

Since it seems like everyone has a winter project going with a thread documenting it, I figured I would join in. Some of you might remember that last winter I smoothed the engine bay and painted the front clip. Well, this winter I'm painting the rest of the car. It's a rust free car, but it...
